BIG UPDATE: I have rewrote the Prelude, let me know what you think of it:

Prelude: The Beginning of the Master Destiny Project

Around the year 2020, the company VFL was born. A man named Geovanni Galbatorix started the company at the age of 23. VFL (Video games for Life) worked on many projects. Some of those projects were not even related to video games. However, one major breakthrough was in the making that would change video games forever! One unrelated project Geovanni worked on was HFES- Hydrogen Fusion Energy Source.
It would be a way to gain lots of energy and change how we get power forever. He started on that project at the age of 27. It was a big task but around the year 2025, he finally discovered how to properly collect energy from Hydrogen Fusion. It changed how the world used its power. It would be a year later that Max Galbatorix, Geovanni's only son would be born. Around five years later Geovanni was again working on another major project. It was called the Master Destiny Project. Not much was known about that project due to it being top secret.
About twenty-two years later, Max was married to Rebekah, a rich billionaire. Around two years later Rebekah gave birth to Mazon Galbatorix. Mazon was very whinny, even for a baby. Almost two and a half years later, she gave birth to Dave Galbatorix. Dave was the favorite out of the two. He was good-natured and well behaved. Mazon on the other hand was bratty and spoiled. Geovanni tried to get Mazon to behave better but Mazon would not hear of it.
As the years passed, Mazon just got more rotten while Dave only shined brighter and brighter. Mazon even once said at the age of 7, “The only thing that would please me is to have the world in my pocket.” Around when Mazon was 5 years of age and Dave 3 years, Max and Rebekah one day never returned from work. No one ever heard from them again ever since the year 2060. Geovanni then started to raise them as a father would. As the years passed, Geovanni was closer to completing his big project. He was around the age of 65 when he completed the Master Destiny Project in the year 2063.
It was then revealed that the project worked in conjunction with his earlier project HFES. The project needed the amount of energy HFES produced. Geovanni finally created the M.C.O.D (Master Computer of Destiny). MCOD was a computer that used the large amounts of energy to open a gate to an unknown dimension. The MCOD then used its power to create worlds by manipulating an unknown element inside the dimension. That unknown element broke the rules of the conservation of mass; it could create and destroy/delete mass. MCOD was then the world's first "Life Reality Game System".
As you see, Geovanni's true goal was to create the ultimate virtual video game! Geovanni wanted to create a game world that was more than just occupying their mind. He wanted something that anyone could enjoy. Video games were blamed for a lot of unhealthy people. However, this would be a totally different way to play. The MCOD opened a gate to the unknown dimension soon to be called the Dimension of Destiny (DOD). Not much was known at this time but this was more than a virtual world...it was another reality.
As the years passed, the Master Destiny Project was closer to perfection. It would soon be beta tested. However, by the year 2074 Geovanni vanished without a trace. It is not known what happened, but some say his grandson may have something to do with it. When VFL was about to make its beta release for the Life Reality System, things were looking good.
Unfortunately, it would soon be under-control of Geovanni's evil grandson, Mazon Galbatorix. He was the inheritor of the project due to his Grandfather’s disappearance. He re-engineered MCOD for his own evil purposes. His plan was to use it to trap people in his dimension and create his own kingdom! He then would also rule the world by programming human impostors to pose as world leaders and cause chaos.
The original programming of DOD did not allow death in the dimension. However, Mazon changed the safety device that would prevent death in the dimension. Before Mazon changed DOD, it used to be a “console-like” place to host different games that would be made. When you entered the “Game Dimension”, you would then be at the menu hall where you then can choose what game you want to play.
After you choose the door that hosts your game, then you would enter the world that hosted the game. However as you know, Mazon re-engineered the Dimension of Destiny. He wiped the options you had when you entered DOD. You now go to the game Mazon decides you to go to. The Dark Maze is the default game.
The game was programmed to make the player lost forever. There are 10 areas and usually 2-4 sub-areas in each area (Areas were also known as “Worlds”). He also programmed human impostors that would deceive players and keep them lost or subdue them. It was not really known what was truly in the dimension due to only tales being told within VFL, some people did not believe any of it.
However, some actually did. Waylen Mandread was one of them who believed the tales. He was working for VFL since 2072. Ever since he heard of Geovanni's disappearance, he became suspicious of Mazon. Mazon was believed to be the leader of the Raiders of Destiny (ROD), a organized crime group that does countless crimes and has even gone to the existents of arming terrorists. Now it seems Mazon has control of both groups.
Fortunately, Mazon did not know all the administrator codes of DOD. He only has 2/10 of the knowledge he needs to rule the Dimension of Destiny with total GM power. That is still enough to have some control over DOD. Mazon is suspected in using ROD to kidnap/capture people and imprison them into the Dimension of Destiny. It was never proved but Waylen knew it had to be true.
Six years later in the year 2080, Waylen decided to find out what Mazon' true plan was. However, he was caught snooping near Mazon's office before he could hear anything. He was sent off and was told,” Mazon will be seeing you soon enough.”

Chapter 1: The Dark Beginning for Waylen.

Waylen woke up after hearing his alarm. He liked having his house built near VFL. It was like any other day working for VFL. It was a great job but he still had a feeling that his boss, Mazon, was up to something. Just the other day he tried to sneak into Mazon's office to find details but was caught. He thought the idea of sneaking into the office was a bad idea but he shrugged it off without even thinking. I should have listened to myself. Who knows what he is going to do to me. Waylen started the coffee machine up; he loved black coffee. Due to the long hours worked, he felt needed it.
Waylen put three teaspoons full of sugar into his coffee; it was just the way he liked it. He sipped on it for a while and sat it down to grab the remote to the TV. He walked over to his couch and used the remote to turn the TV on. He flipped the channel to the news. There were some more reports of some Federal Agents being killed. He sighed. What is this world coming to?
The TV later showed the Story of a Senator from New York. “Hello, today we have the story of a New York Senator who was caught stealing from several charities and from State Taxes. He refuses to admit to it. There were at least twenty-five who testified against him. Here is what he has to say.”
The TV switched to a live feed of the Senator. “I am not a crook! How could you believe I stole from several of those charities including the one my wife leads. I love Children and I would never steal from those charities! As for the so-called stolen taxes...what proof do you have? I never have done any of those things! I was set up, I tell you. This is connected to the Feder-” The feed was cut off. The TV switched to the News Station.
“I am sorry to inform you that we lost the feed. He will be on trail later today. There will be more information on him later. We have some breaking news about a new type of-” Waylen turned the TV off. He was sick of the news already. When are we actually going to get some good news? He got up off the couch, ran back over to his coffee, and finished it.
Then all of a sudden, he thought of Leasha. Oh, I had better go call her. I was supposed to meet with her. He ran to the phone to dial her number but only got the answering machine. He tried several more times before giving up. Nothing. He walked over to his kitchen to grab some quick breakfast. He had several breakfast bars so he would eat on the road but today he decided to have a nice breakfast. He was in deep thought for several minutes then decided to have bacon and eggs.
After breakfast, he went over to his dresser to find his keys and then ran to his car to go to work. As he started the car, he went back into deep thought again. I sometimes worry about working for a secret company. You sure cannot just shrug it off. The feeling. The feeling that there are things being kept secret from even you. I hope today goes well. However, he knew it would not. Something big was about to happen and he did not even come close to knowing.
As Waylen drove up the secret cave leading to the VFL building, he noticed the guards acting rather spooked as if they have seen something. Waylen wondered why there were guards needed in this quantity, way too many. Not the number you would use to guard something but the number you use to keep something in. Some of them looked like they were overworked and needed a vacation.
Waylen served a little in the military and they looked happier than those guards did. He heard that the guards were being paid a lot but worked very long hours. There were 37 divisions in the Guard Division. Most of which were not even known to most if not everyone outside the division. There were only the four commonly known ones within VFL, A, B, C, and X.
Waylen parked his car and went inside. Men were busy all over the place working on the many activities of VFL. Some were working with the MCOD and a few with the Gate of Destiny; which was how you got into the Dimension of Destiny. Waylen liked his job. He was in charge of testing the combat system of DOD. It was a lot of fun but it was dangerous due to a possible bug to where you could die if something goes wrong. However, so far none has died in the DOD. Besides, they usually tested the more dangerous activities with test bots.
Waylen was about to start some testing when he was called over by his boss. “Waylen, Mazon would like to speak with you soon. He is at his office, go over there with due haste!” Waylen only nodded towards his boss as he made his way over.
As he went towards Mazon's office, he had the feeling something terrible was about to happen. Waylen never talked to Mazon much at all. Waylen has seen him a few times but he generally stayed away from him like a plague. Now he was going to speak with him about something. Perhaps it was about sneaking around his office or perhaps something…different. Whatever Mazon was going to say, it was going to be bad news. Very bad news!
As Waylen stepped inside Mazon’s office, he noticed that the office was just like any other conference office, except the fact, the table was an unusual size. The room also shared an awkward size with dark colors such as red and black. He also saw a huge map of the world on the wall behind Mazon. He could not tell from where he was but the map had marks and notes next to them. There was also a TV on the wall next to the entrance of the office.
For the first time, Waylen got a good look at Mazon. Mazon had eyes that have an unnatural gold look to them. He was probably around 6 foot and 4 inches tall. Lastly, he had black hair and wore a fancy business suit that only someone rich would buy. Worst of all, he had a look in his eyes that could kill someone. I do not like this one bit, Waylen thought.
Mazon showed no emotion but his eyes burrowed into Waylen. It was as if Mazon could stare into Waylen's soul. After awhile Mazon finally spoke, “Ah, I finally get to talk to you face to face. I have been hearing things about you. Some of which are good. However, I have you here with me to talk about your…snooping problem. Why were you near my office?”
Waylen signed. I knew it! That is why he wants me here. I had better find a good excuse. Waylen thought of it for a few seconds. “Why would I be snooping? I wanted to talk to you because I never got a chance.” Hopefully he bites, Waylen thought.
Mazon grinned. “Really? Then what would you like to talk about?”
Waylen went back into thought. I need more excuses…think. “Oh, nothing much, I just wanted to talk to you for a while. I have never talked to you before.”
Mazon licked his lips. “Interesting, because I think I know the perfect topic up for discussion. How about we talk about the future of VFL and MCOD. When we are done, I will discuss the future of a friend of yours but most importantly, you.”
Waylen blinked in confusion. “A friend of mine? Who are you talking about? Why is it so important to discuss this topic with me?”
Mazon smiled. “I think she is a good friend of yours. She is very beautiful as well. Depending on how you answer, the next few questions will decide her future. I believe this will have an effect on you as well. You want her happy, do you not?”
Waylen got angry. “What are you doing with Leasha? You better not hurt her or else!”
Mazon licked his fingertips and brushed them against his eyebrows. “Oh, so that is her name.” -Mazon smiled- “What makes you think she is with me? I could be just as easily be suggesting that you could be making more money to impact her life.”
Waylen slammed his fist against the table. “Because she is not answering her phone and that is not like her to not answer her cell and home phone. Besides, how you said it sounded like a threat.”
Mazon seemed to enjoy playing games. “Really? From my point of view, it sounded like you were threatening me. All I said was your answering of my questions will affect her life.”
Waylen was red but he stopped himself from saying something he may have regretted. Calm down. He wants something; I may have to follow through for answers. “OK, what are your questions? I will try to answer them”
Mazon beamed. “Now, I must ask for you to be honest. If you lie to me then you will not get anywhere with me. Truth or get nothing, deal?”
Waylen stayed cool. “OK, shoot.”
“Were you snooping near my office?”
Waylen hesitated. “I was curious to see what is going on around here.”
“It is a simple yes or no question. Did you or did you not?”
“Yes, I did.”
Mazon smiled. “Now, why were you snooping?”
Waylen thought of his answer for a while. “I honestly have no idea why I started snooping. I have no clue of what brought me up to it.”
Mazon frowned. “I told you to answer me honestly.”
“I told you the honest truth! What more do you want from me?”
“You see, I already know why you were snooping and what brought you up to it. That is why you should stop lying. It can become such a bad habit if you continue for too long.”
Waylen sighed. Things are never easy. “I was wondering what you are going to turn VFL into. I heard rumors of what you may do. I still don’t believe them but I am curious.”
Mazon frowned again. “I told you, if you don’t stop lying now, it will become a bad habit.”
Waylen got angry. “It is the truth, not a lie!”
Mazon smiled at Waylen’s anger. “And such temper too. You see, if there is a small lie within the truth, it is still a lie. A white lie, but a lie nevertheless. You are telling the truth about what you wondering about what I was doing and heard rumors about me.
“However, you do believe the rumors. I already told you that I know everything you know. Let’s cut to the chase.” -Mazon smiled- “You think that I am responsible for my father’s disappearance and that I am going to try to rule the world with this project. You also think that I will make my Kingdom in the Dimension of Destiny. Does that about sum up some of what you think of me?”
Waylen was shocked. So he does know. He knows a lot more than I gave him credit for.
Mazon licked his lips. “You have got to admit that this is a lot to accuse a person of. Do you relies how far fetched this sounds, right? Me taking over the world with such a simple project.”
Waylen laughed. “OK, I thought we were going to be honest, remember? You know the true power and capability of this project and I know it. It is very powerful; too powerful for someone in the wrong hands. I have tested it several times with simulation bots and I know it has to be powerful to create something from nothing. To make whole worlds out of nothing. It surpasses the law of our dimension. Now, since we are now both being honest, tell me where Leasha is.”
Mazon smiled. “So the gloves are off, eh?” -Mazon got up out of his chair and turned around while putting his hands behind his back- “Well then, I shall show you.” Mazon then grinned wickedly and then pulled out a remote for his TV. Mazon turned it on. Waylen looked up and then turned red hot; the image of Leasha being held hostage in a small room was on the monitor. Leasha looked at her monitor and screamed, “Waylen, get me the heck out of here. Those idiots won't keep their hands off of me!” Leasha was tied up with her hands behind the chair. A man tried to shut her up by attempting to duck tape her mouth but she managed to kick him with a free leg.”
“Don't worry”, said Waylen, “I'll get you out of this!”
“So, you think you can free her”, said Mazon smiling, “You are probably wondering why I have her and also wondering what I want you for.”
Waylen snarled, “I know what you want and why she is a captive. You want to bribe me with her life to keep me silent, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear you wanting something else out of me.”
“Ah, I see you catch on quickly. Besides, who would believe you? I mean, no one knows this company even exists! We have a big cover up going on that even pays us, with trickery and lies of course. Not to mention, we have inside spies all over the world that gives us a little more than information.”
Mazon laughed. “Yes, soon this world will fear an evil they will not ever get to see. They will obey my every command or suffer for it! Now to tell you of your future in this. You are going to be promoted. Do not get all excited now. You are going to join Raiders of Destiny to-”
“Oh no,” Waylen interrupted, “You have a lot of nerve to ask me that!”
Mazon seemed amused. “You don't seem to understand what is at stake- Jack, give Leasha some special treatment for Waylen.” Jack seemed happy to do whatever evil Mazon wanted him to do. “On your command!” Then Jack smacked her left arm with a club. You could see the pain in her face. “Don't you dare touch her!” Waylen said with anger.
Leasha fought up a smile. “Waylen, please rescue me from those idiots. Don't worry about Jack's torture. He hits like a girl...I should know!”
Waylen was amused by that comment. “Mazon, what are you going to make me do and what are you going to do with Leasha?” Mazon had the look of a kid who got his Christmas gift, “Well, if you want her safety, I want you to join Raiders of Destiny to help me capture some important people. I also promise to take real good care of her.” Mazon started laughing.
“You better hope to keep her safe. I promise to kill you if you let her die!”
Mazon chuckled. “Well, if you think you can threaten me like that and get away with it then you’re sadly making a big mistake. I hold all the cards here. Her life is only just one of the aces in the hole; I have so many at my disposal.”
Waylen looked pressured. I cannot just stand here and take this. If I do what he says, I will put many people in danger. There is no guaranty he will even keep her safe either way. He has me trapped, there has to be some way out. “Well? Mr. Mandread, I'm waiting for your response.” Mazon said with satisfaction.
Waylen all of the sudden had an idea, “OK, but under one condition!”
“What's that? This better be a good one.”
“I want Leasha to join me. I can then make sure she is safe. Before you go to saying anything, if we betray you, you could easily capture us and escort us to the Dimension of Destiny.” Mazon was caught by surprise at that answer. “Well...umm...You- I think that may be even better than what I have planned. Even if you try to escape or tell people, I will find you either way. Yes, yes, this is all perfect! Now then, I'll escort you to your girl friend so you can make sure to both agree to this, even though it's going to happen either way.”
Mazon sent Jack to escort Waylen to the room Leasha was held at. When he entered, Leasha was silent. Waylen looked around the prison cell. It was not that bad, like most cells, but it sure was no hotel room. When the Jack left, she yelled out, “What were you thinking? There could have been other ways; you even gave him an idea what to do with us!”
“Look, it is not like I had that much of a choice! I just thought this would keep us close.”
“Well, I guess you ARE right. So, now what are we going to do?” Waylen seemed to look hopeless, “I don't really know. Only thing I know now is that we belong to ROD.”
“So, how do you plan to esc-” Waylen made her be quiet, “They are probably listening to what we are saying. But know this, we can't do anything now.” Leasha did not want that answer, “So, we just let them control the world? That is not the Waylen I know. They may hear us but you still need to think of something!”
“I will explain later.” They then both went to bed in their prison cell. There was so much in store for their future they could hardly sleep. They knew that a dark path was set for them; one with pain and suffering but there was a way to escape somehow.
------------------------------------
Mazon sat in his office smiling. “And so it begins. All is according to plan.”
After a few minutes, a man showed up in Mazon’s office who seemed excited about something. “Mazon, have you seen what is on the news? It is absolutely delightful, isn’t it?”
Mazon smiled. “Yes, it is. The FBI should be more careful. It would be a shame if their identities were known. Perhaps that will teach some of those who would dare betray me. As for that Senator, he will be a perfect example. It is those kinds of people who we get the money from when we need it and then we make them burn for it. This is delightful indeed.”
The man smiled. “I see that Waylen came by today. I take it he is now under your control.”
Mazon licked his lips. “He is but still has a leash that makes him feel he has a will.”
“When am I going to be in the position you promised me? How soon will things take affect?”
“Soon, very soon! I just need to first place a certain someone in his place. He has proven to be worthy of his soon-to-be position. You have a great mentor indeed.”
The man smiled. “But we have no further use of how he is now. That will change soon.”
Mazon licked his fingers then brushed his hair with them. “Yes, Science can’t wait for too long. He will soon learn that very soon.”
The man laughed as he stared off into the distance past the window of the office. “Does Waylen know of your true plans? A few of our test subjects are doing well but some die due to instability.”
Mazon shock his head. “He does not yet. He will eventually but not for now.” -Mazon paused for a moment then continued- “So, how many successes do we have versus failure?”
The man took out some of his notes. “We have a little over one thousand successes versus almost a half a million failures. Plus we have almost a billion casualties, most include death.”
Mazon smiled again. “Amazing, isn’t it? I predicted more deaths and failures. We have a lot of staff but I think we are starting to run a bit thin now ever since Valen ran off with some of them.”
“You mean Director Stranglehold? You have never before called him Valen. Besides, he just uprooted the weak ones in our staff. I say he done us a favor.”
Mazon laughed. “Perhaps he did. However, we still have some members of our staff who are weak and need to get into shape or they will be…disposed of properly.”
“I love how you use your words. You have the right way to put things.”
Mazon smiled at the man. “Yes, but you remind me a lot of myself. Now, I shall talk to you very soon. It will be a bit after when the matter of your position is resolved.”
The man nodded and left. Mazon looked around his office then picked up his phone. “Use some knockout gas in cell 6,” he told his secretary, “After you make sure they are asleep, have someone take them into the guest room I have prepared for them.”

Chapter 2: Go find Director Stranglehold.

The next day seemed to come slowly. Waylen woke up and looked around. He was surprised to find the prison looking different. “Wow, for a prison, this is sure fancy! Scratch that, it's even fancy enough for the President himself. This doesn’t seem to be the cell we slept in.” Leasha woke up a few minutes later. She must have heard him in her sleep because she said, “Huh? Oh, you are right. I wonder how I didn't notice that before.”
Around the room was almost everything you can imagine for entertainment. For some reason, this seems odd to have in a prison. Maybe it wasn't really a cell; maybe they were just tired and didn't notice. They were then even more startled when they heard Mazon's voice. He was in the front door of the suite with four armed ROD guards. However, one of them looked like a higher ranked member, maybe even an administrator.
“Good morning, I take it you like the stuff I sent you...Now, now, don't give me that look. If you serve me well, I will give you more-”
“That's not what I was going to say,” snapped Waylen. “What are you up to? We WERE in a prison cell with nothing but gray walls and two beds.”
“Yes, you were. However, since you trouble makers decided to behave, you get rewarded. Now, as you know, I have a mission for you. You are to find a very important person who can help me with a few problems I ran into with MCOD. His name is Director Stranglehold. Yes, he may be hard to find, but he is very important to my success”, said Mazon.
“So, you think he will agree to helping you use him just to rule both worlds?
I think not”, said Waylen, “If anything, he will try to stop you!” Mazon laughed. “Yes, but what he doesn't know, won't hurt him. If you catch my hint, that means he will know nothing! Now, he lives somewhere in Hawaii. I don't know which island, so it may be difficult to find him.”
“Well, I guess we are off to vacation while in chains, huh? Sounds fun,” Waylen said sarcastically. “Or are you going to use the shock collar?”
“I think I can trust you enough without a leash, you won't need one with ROD administrators around to watch you two. AT LEAST I think I can trust you boys around to look after them,” Mazon said while looking at four members of ROD. The apparent leader was tall, had blond hair with blue eyes, and wore a fancy uniform with initials “R.O.D”. “I'll make sure they don't go too far, but if they do, I hope they know they will only entertain me in the process, for I always loved a good chase,” the administrator of ROD replied.
Mazon looked at Franso Hold'em. “Well, be sure it's business before pleasure. You will get good pay if you do things correctly, but not until I get things working properly,” said Mazon. He then looked at Waylen only to say, “You better hope you find the Director fast, else you will be looking for a doctor!” Waylen seemed to force a laugh, “Yea, yea-” Mazon interrupted, “Enough, come meet us in the briefing room, I will have Franso escort you.” Instead of Franso, another minion of ROD seemed to have substituted him. “Sorry, but I had a few things to fix before you came, so I decided Rayon should take you instead of me,” said Franso.
When Waylen and Leasha walked into Mazon's office, they were the only ones in the office with Mazon. “OK, this person is going to be tough to track,” said Mazon.
Mazon seemed to have forgotten anyone was in the same room he was in because he added, “How am I to trust a bunch of morons who can't make ANY progress! A rock rolling up hill has the same progress rate as them! One of those days I'll lo-” Mazon then looks back towards the room to look at Waylen and Leasha. Mazon seemed embarrassed. “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!” Mazon quickly tried to hide in his curtain near his chair.
Waylen and Leasha both said, “What are you doing behind-”
“I SAID PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN BEH-”
“Chill out man, why are you hiding? What are you trying to hide?” Leasha questioned. Waylen laughed and whispered, “...He acts like a kid who got caught with his hands in the cookie jar.” “I just like the curtains, don't question my motives,” Mazon complained. “I almost forgot- well I forgot you were coming. Well, now that you are here, I must brief you on where we will start. We will start searching at the island of Honolulu, Hawaii.”
“Ah, so do you have any strategy or are you going to just randomly guess? It would be ironic if we visit there and he just left Honolulu and went for a different island. By the time we checked all of Hawaii out, he would return to Honolulu,” said Waylen with a smirk.
“As I said, you better find him quick. If I even smell foul play, it will be the end of you!” Mazon then pointed at the map, “We will have ROD's Private fighter jet fly over at Kalaeloo Airport. We have agents on the inside to make sure no one knows anything. If word of our arrival comes out, he may try to flee. He doesn't like doing work, so he will think we want him to do work on MCOD, which of course we do, but we want him to be surprised at our visit.”
“Oh, this is wonderful! We are going to give him a surprise visit, huh? What do we then say when we visit him? How about a video game, Director Stranglehold? And he will say, 'OH BOY, this sounds like fun.' Yea, I can picture his face now, “said Waylen with amusement.
“Oh, is that so? You must not know Director Stranglehold very well. He may hate work, but he sure loves a good video game. Of course, that is not what we will use to lure him. I, through you two, will make him a deal he cannot refuse. Let’s just say he also loves money, and lots of it.
“So the deal I make will come up in his ally. There are good things to gain while he only has to do the one bad thing he hates, the work. Well, I guess that wraps it up pretty much. As I said, you won't go alone, but the ROD spies won't get too close,” Mazon motioned over to his ROD spies.
“Don't worry,” said Franso Hold'em, “I will see to it that they will be good. However, I always know the 'good guys' always aren't good to us, they like to scheme against us. Yet we call ourselves the 'Bad guys'. Are we the ones who are supposed to scheme while they try to figure us out? Man, things aren't like they used to be.”
Mazon looked Franso with amazement, “What is your problem? We are on the winning side! What gives you that idea? The MCOD, or the fact that we live in a year where you can get almost anything you want for the right dollar amount? Things are definitely not the same, but it matters not. For when I rule this land, things of the past will be wiped clean and I will put new meaning into people's lives,” Mazon looked at his watch. “Oh, it would seem we've got distracted and lost track of time. Now, off with you and no disappointments!”
Waylen and Leasha went to pack things and prepare for departure. “Leasha, when the time comes, follow my lead, don't ask questions.” “OK, but don't do anything stupid. The last thing we want is a reason to just toss us into the Dimension of Destiny. I don’t mean to sound negative, but we have to make a plan and yet play dumb, but not too dumb.”
“Well, since we are in a good place to talk, I guess we could talk about what we could try. I suggest we get Director Stranglehold on our side, but make sure he still acts as if he was never spoken to. Maybe we can get Dr, Stranglehold to tamper with or even destroy MCOD! If we can do this, we can save the world from this Nightmare!”
“Yea, tell me about it. I cannot imagine the world of evil he created. I sure would hate to be in a world he has absolute control of.” Leasha shivered. “Well, he will have almost absolute control of this world too if he captures the right people.” Waylen had a troubled expression.
“Think about it, if he was to capture all of the world leaders and anyone possible to replace them…it would be crazy! If he can do what I think he can do, it will be mostly hopeless if we wait too long. Good news is Mazon needs Director Stranglehold and the three other engineers who created MCOD. His father is one of those three others but unfortunately, he has his father’s knowledge of MCOD. So that leaves two others. I don’t really know who those two are now, but we will find out soon enough.”
“Yea, he will need them if he is to reprogram MCOD and create his universe of evil. I just hope they are harder to find than Director Stranglehold, since he already knows he is somewhere in Hawaii”, said Leasha. “So, about what fraction of MCOD did Director Stranglehold do?”
“I believe 6/10 of it.”
“Dang, that’s a big portion! So, did the others just sleep while he did most of the work?”
“No, I heard he has a great talent for video games and went ballistic with his work.”
“Ah, I see...well I thought that Geovanni did more than-”
“No, he only in fact did 2/10 of the project. However, that can only mean the other two engineers only did 1/10. Even though that is a small portion, they are still very important to Mazon's work.” After a few hours, they were done packing but got a call to go to Mazon. “Well, I guess our 'Master' wants to see us before we go,” said Leasha with disgust. “It's OK. We only need to see him for awhile. Afterwards we can head off.”
They walked down the hall towards Mazon’s office. The office seems to change every time we visit it, Waylen thought. Instead of the usual paper work that clutters the long table, there was a big map of the world and DOD. It seemed to have marks in certain areas; probably points of some interest. Waylen took a quick snap of it with his camera phone. We may need those later. The office was empty except for a chair that had its back towards the room.
The chair whipped around in a 180-degree angle to reveal some dark hooded figure sitting on it like a throne. It was then revealed to be Mazon. “Ah, I see you’re here finally. Well, sorry for the short notice, but I must tell you something else.”
Mazon went over to his map and pointed to a mark near Washington, D.C. “I have reason to believe we had a few traitors in ROD that dared to defy me and tried to tell the FBI some of our secrets. Fortunately for us, they told our inside FBI members; who gladly executed them for me.”
Waylen laughed, “So, we care why? Trying to warn us not to betray you?”
“You could say that. You see, you cannot trust the government either. There is a chance you will just run into one of my boys; and yes, I told them to execute anyone trying to shine light on my operation. Just watch yourselves."
“Well, thanks for the tip,” said Waylen rolling his eyes.
“It’s more than a tip; it comes with something good too. You see, those traitors also had their own secrets. They had the location of one of the other two programmers. I do not know which one's location we have but we will find whoever he is nevertheless. I will personally visit him very soon. Of course, he will be easy to find, unlike Director Stranglehold.”
“Good news, your Excellency, Supreme Grand Game Master Mazon!” The minion exclaimed. “What is it? I hope this is good. Oh, and don't use that title yet,” Mazon replied.
“Sorry. It is a good reason, sir. It is the identity of that programmer. His name is Mac Greevil. So, is he the one who you said would be more than willing to help you?”
“Yes, he's the one. He will not even need a huge bribe or need me to hide anything for him to assist me. Why, he is ones of those people who enjoy causing trouble. With Director Greevil and Director Stranglehold, I will soon hold 90% of the Dimension's knowledge.”
Which we better avoid, or we're done for, Waylen thought. However, that Director Greevil sounds like trouble. Is he really willing to cause suffering? How does he get the job of designing MCOD? Waylen laughed. Maybe he was the one who designed pain into the game. Perhaps the MCOD is glitching up and is not causing the player to die as programmed and since Mazon does not know how to do it properly, he needs his help.[/i]
“Do you find something funny Mr. Mandread? I do hope you can share with the rest of us.” Mazon questioned.
“No sir....Supreme Grand Nincompoop.”
“Because I think you do have something to share.”
“Well, it's not what I think was funny, but what was Greevil in charge of?”
“He is in charge of the physical conditions of humans who enter the game. He coded the system that has everything to do with conditions such as healthy, sick, poisoned, death, and much more. He even has the code for invincibility. We still have not tested to see if the conditions come with you to our world as well. However, due to some information with codes that disappeared with my grandfather, Geovanni, there is now even information we cannot access with all the Directors together.
“We will worry about that when the time comes. If worse comes to show, those codes would fall into my enemies' hands. It is highly unlikely they will know what they come across. One of those codes will be a chart for the status code change that occurs in MCOD to keep from hacking it. It is annoying that it has an almost unpredictable order, but it does keep from hacking it. Each status has billion digit codes that switch almost too fast to be figured out.
“I must say though, I'm impressed with the security of the MCOD. It has some security never before seen. I truly believe the MCOD can be a hacker's worst nightmare. It may be possible to hack it, but you can only do it manually on MCOD. Geovanni planned to release a console that shared a connection with MCOD, but it never was released. It of course had great security, but it left MCOD a bit more vulnerable due to the fact it now allowed remote access.
“Oh, I got carried away. Anyways, you may also wonder why I have those marks on this map. It will be revealed soon when the time is necessary.”
“That was sure a mouthful, Mazon. I was surprised no one fell asleep while-” Waylen got interrupted. “And there is a reason behind that.” Mazon laughed.
“Ah, I see. You don't need us to have shock collars, you need your staff to wear them,” Waylen joked. “No shock collar will make them suffer the way I can make them.”
“Oh, so you will complain? Yea, I see how that will kill them-”
“You full well know what I'll do, and unless you'd like to find out the hard way, I suggest you shut your mouth before I blast it.”
“Sorry, Mom, I promise to be good boy.” Waylen snickered. Leasha gave Waylen a dark looking glare. Do not push it, stupid, was written all over her face. Right, Waylen thought. I better be a good boy, or I may find myself in a dark corner.
Mazon then handed both Leasha and Waylen a cool looking cell phone. However, as they looked at it, they noticed it was not a cell phone, but resembled one. “It has almost everything you need to complete the missions I will set for you. It is a very small prototype computer with over one terabyte memory and hard drive. Now most computers are not EVEN this powerful, but note it is a prototype, so be careful with it. It will keep you updated with your missions and is filled with gadgets to get you to places you'd never be able to get to.”
“So, we get to play James Bond? Sweet, I'll be sure to bring back the equipment in 'one piece',” Waylen laughed.
“You better, because unlike Q I will literally kill you. Of course, I always have other ways to make you pay. I trust that you have enough intelligence to keep it from being destroyed.”
“Well, care to show us some of its functions?”
“Well, just the basic.” Mazon showed them the basic functions. “If you have any questions, feel free to ask.” Waylen looked amazed. “So this really does all that? This is what, the basic functions? Well, I guess you must have got secrets from somewhere on how to make this.”
“Actually, this was Director Stranglehold's design. He is quite the inventor.”
“I'd say. So with us using this, what do you expect to happen for us to use this? Are we going to spy around, find his house, break in, and surprise him?”
“Excellent idea, I don't even have to say a word before you know what to do. With that said, I shall show you the fighter jet. Also, it doesn't look like one, but it will look suspicious if it did look like a fighter jet.” They all went down the hall with their luggage to see the fighter jet: ROD1337. Both Waylen and Leasha stared in amazement. It was a huge jet with well-hidden guns and missile launchers. It was one of the biggest jets they had ever seen. “It's huge,” said Leasha. “That's what she said,” laughed Waylen.
Leasha smacked Waylen with her purse. “Enough with your silly jokes, OK?”
“Fine, be that way, Anti-fun.”
“Children,” said Mazon, “When you’re done fooling around, I'd like to show you the inside.”
The inside of the jet was amazing. It seemed to have all kinds of fun ways to entertain yourself. There was TV, video games, and much more. “This is just like that computer phone; a prototype. My Grandfather put it together. The pilot of this jet is Sidney Ace. I must add, he is one heck of a pilot! I would like you to meet him, he is in a cockpit. I must head off, but if you do well, I'll give you another surprise to rock your world.”
As they were heading towards the cockpit, Leasha noticed many pictures of their pilot. “Wow,” said Leasha, “He has lots of rewards and pictures for his flying career.”
“He must really be a great pilot. Let's knock on this door for him.” As they knocked on the cockpit door, Sidney popped out of the door wearing his ROD pilot uniform that looks almost identical to the soldier uniform. “Ah, you must be Waylen and Leasha,” said Sidney.
“You seem to be an outstanding pilot. I looked at your trophies and pictures.” Leasha said while pointing at the picture.”
“Well, those have some history I'll explain about later. You must be wanting to takeoff right away. I'm ready when you both are.”
“We are,” they both said. “Great, let's head out.” Sidney said with so much force, you would wonder if the jet had started already. When Sidney Ace was about to start the jet, he asked them if it was OK to go very fast.
Both Leasha and Waylen nodded. “This jet can go very fast, are you sure? Some jets can go up to 2k miles per hour. This may be a big jet, but this thing is very fast. Last I recall, this puppy can go up to almost 3k miles per hour.”
Sidney looked at them both with a grin then said, “Not to worry, you will be surprised on how smooth it handles the air; most jets knock you back in your seat when going close to that speed. This puppy is state of the art, it not only does not knock you back while reaching two thousand miles per hour, but you will feel virtually no turbulence. I love ROD1337; it is such a great honor to fly this one-in-a-trillion jet. There are none like this one, none that I recall anyhow.”
“You really do love your job, even though you’re working for a dictator like Mazon?”
“He may be a dictator, but he’s a rich and a smart one at that. He says hacking has served him well. Well, although I don’t like being paid with money that is stolen, but I sure do love my flying job and plan to keep it at almost all costs.”
Sidney looked around then added, “Anyway, I am however, glad that I'm flying you both instead of Mazon. He does complain a bit too much; if you think you really heard him complain, THINK AGAIN. He may complain a lot to people in person, but tends to do even more to by himself. I also must admit, this jet has a feature Mazon doesn't even know.”
Sidney turned to his cockpit and flipped open a lid that revealed his intercom system. “You must be wondering why I am showing you this. Well, I explain later but have a look at this. It may just look like a normal intercom system, but it actually is also a reverse bugged intercom. It allows me to listen in on Mazon's conversation. Why, you might ask, would I want to hear him, and better yet, hear him complain?” Sidney laughed for a while then finally recovered. “Through all his complaining, he talks to himself or his minions of his true plans. I must say, he can be creative.”
“Is there anything you heard about us?” Waylen asked, “I'd like to know if he has said anything about our mission.”
“In fact, yes he did. He thought you would not even try to negotiate with him. Why, he thought he was just only going to end up putting you both in the Dimension of Destiny. Last thing I heard was that he plans to capture Director Stranglehold. So, I figure that's where we are heading, right?”
“Right,” said Waylen. “We are going to see if he really is in Honolulu, Hawaii. We hope to find him secretly and tell him what is going on. We also hope he plays dumb when they ask what he knows. First, we must try to find him without ROD knowing, and then come up with a plan.”
“Ah, so that's it huh? I would be careful if I were you. Mazon has lots of money and power, not to mention all the secret agents he has. He may be using Director Stranglehold as a test of loyalty; Director Stranglehold may be bugged or something.”
“That may be the risk we have to take because Director Stranglehold must not aid Mazon. We hope he may even try to tamper with MCOD.”
“That's easier said than done, is it not? I think we should expect Mazon to take precautions in case that was to happen. I also heard Mazon say that MCOD has some kind of reboot device or something to reject a command that could cause a crash in the system. In order to do real damage, I heard you would have to use fifty shut down codes to shut it down permanently. But to make it even harder, someone would have to insert them in the right order.”
“Fifty codes in the right order?” Waylen gasped. “He sure must want to make sure it isn't accidentally shut down. So, let me guess, does Geovanni have some of those shut down codes?”
“I'm not sure.” Sidney sighed. “All I know is that Mazon almost expects an ambush on or in the MCOD. Well, I reckon we should be on our way. Mazon may think we are scheming against him, HA! Are you all ready for the ride of your life?”
“Sure.” Both Waylen and Leasha agreed. Then they both took their seats and soon Sidney was preparing for takeoff. After 5 minutes, ROD1337 was in the air at around two thousand miles per hour. A bit later, Waylen looked out the window. “Hey captain, don't you just love the sky?”
“Don't you just know the answer to that question?
“Yea, but what's the part you love the most?”
“Well, I just love flying above the clouds, soaring higher than almost anything on the planet. You know, it is the freedom you get when you are in the sky. Of course, there's some things I can't explain, but that's as simple as I can explain the feeling.”
“Well, I'm glad you do what you love best. So, how many miles is it from here to where we need to go?” Sidney looked at his monitor. “Approximately 2900 miles until our destination, we should be there around past an hour.”
“Man, this jet can sure fly!” Waylen soon fell asleep while staring at the sky..

Chapter 3: A day in an Island Paradise!

After an hour and 24 minutes, they were soon closing in on the Kalaeloo Airport at Honolulu, Hawaii. Waylen soon woke up as Sidney was saying, “Alright you two, we are landing at the airport soon.” Waylen looked outside; there were all kinds of beauty on this island to admire. “I always wanted to take a vacation here,” said Leasha.
Sidney looked at her and said, “Yea? Well, I’ve been here only twice, but due to it always being work related, I never got to enjoy my stay.”
“Well, I say we all enjoy ourselves a bit. How does that sound, dear?” Waylen, still a bit sleepy, looked at here and replied. “Yea, that sounds good.” He yawned afterwards. “Looks like someone is tired; are you thinking about sleeping a bit?”
“Well, with everything going on, I’ve been having trouble with sleep. I am more likely; however, to have some fun at the beach and I hope to maybe catch some shuteye there.”
“Hey, that sounds like a great idea! Sidney, how does that sound to you?” Sidney scratched his neck and shrugged. “Me? I do not know what I’ll do for sure. But what Waylen said sounds good, especially when there are ladies on the beach.”
“So your idea of fun is looking at the babes right?” Leasha questioned Sidney.
“Yea, that and among other things like surfing. However, I do have quite the long list of activities. I always did want a vacation from Mazon; unfortunately, we still aren’t in the clear from him. I also recommend that after we take a small break, that we also go look for Director Stranglehold fast.” Waylen shifted in his seat, started to say something, and stopped. He looked at both Sidney and Leasha for a bit and then said.
“We are too valuable for him to do anything to us. However, we better not push our luck. I agree for a small vacation and then search, but we must act fast if we are to get Director Stranglehold on our side! Before we start relaxing, we must ask our 'faithful leader',” Waylen rolled his eyes and almost laughed when he said faithful leader, “If we are allowed to take a small rest before looking for him. Also we need to ask him where the Director could be located.”
Sidney, being a wise guy, pointed towards the beach. “Well, he may be on the beach taking a long vacation from Mazon. I'll look there while you two go phone His Excellency, Supreme Super Grand Game Failure about how much he sucks, how much the world hates him, and how his title just makes him look like a complete nincompoop!”
They all laughed. “Hey,” said Waylen, “I’d do that...but I think the truth may hurt his big ego!”
“Hurt his ego? Nope,” laughed Sidney, “not Mazon. He would just think you are just jealous of his title and wish you were as good as him. Why, if he were compared to other hackers and their egos, Mazon would have over 9000% bigger of an ego. You'd wonder when he would start to float away with that fat head of his...but unfortunately he lets out all that air through his anger.”
“Guys are we going to get started, or are we going to start a club about how Mazon sucks?”
“That’s a great idea, Leasha!”
“I'm serious, Waylen!”
“Fine, but I still like that idea of that club. It will start to have high population very soon.”
“So, are you going to talk to Mazon or do you plan to hide and talk about him behind his back while I talk to him on the phone? I think he will just love the way you talk about him.”
“No, I will just ask him for our mission and permission to have fun for 4 days.”
“4 days? I think I'd like a week better.”
“Then you go tell him, otherwise let me ask him. I believe 4 days is almost pushing it so we better stick with it.” Waylen looked up towards the sky and sighed. “I wonder what Mazon is up to.”
“He is probably looking at himself in the mirror of his office saying,' pretty boy, yes, who's a pretty boy?' Ha, I hope we don't interrupt anything.”
“Wow, Leasha! I thought only I made comments like that towards Mazon. What happened to being serious?” Waylen laughed, obviously joking. “Well, it gets boring being serious. Besides, I think we better have fun while we can.”
Waylen grabbed his Mazonian phone and stared at it for a while. Obviously, Mazon likes taking credit for something and then he names the product after his name or something silly. He looked at the address book and found Mazon's number. So, let us see...Haha, his number is 666-1337. He also stores the other part of the number with the password on a card. Yep, that is Mazon's number all right!
Waylen then dialed Mazon's number and entered the code. He heard a few dial tones then Mazon’s Secretary said, “Hello, this is His Excellency’s office. Who am I speaking to?”
“This is Waylen Mandread. I am working with him to find Director Stranglehold. May I get a hold of him for a bit? Oh, isn't your name Viv Ivins?”
“Yes, it is. Hold on, I'll get him right away.”
Mazon could be heard yelling from the phone. “WHAT? Who wants me?!? Waylen, what does he want? He wants to talk to me? What for? I'm very busy, can't he- Oh, so he needs me to order him around to find Director Stranglehold?” Mazon then picked up his phone and transferred the call to his phone. “So, what do you need?”
“Well first off, where should we start our search? Where is he most likely to be located at?”
“I think you have another more pressing issue you want to ask before saying that...”
“We also want to know if we could enjoy ourselves for 4 days then search for him.”
“So, it is permission you want, eh? OK, permission granted! I bet you thought I'd say no.”
“Actually, I kind of did. My girl friend mentioned a week but-”
“I'll let you have that much time off instead. Go ahead lie and say you worked hard to get the extra time off just for her. You may score points with her.
“Sure...but why do you care so much? You want something in return, right?”
“You read me loud and clear. I won't say now, but you will repay, trust me...” Mazon started laughing for a minute. After awhile, he recomposed himself and said, “...Anyhow, go ahead and get moving. I will tell you where to start looking a week from now. Alright, I’m over and out!”
“OK, see ya later.” Waylen closed his phone. He blinked and then took a long stare at the ceiling. So, he is going to want a favor later, huh? Well, I guess at least I have a week before we head out for work. Waylen scratched his chin. Hmm, I got a good idea! We will look a day earlier and gain an advantage over Mazon! But he may expect something if we look too suspicious.
Waylen walked over toward Ewa Beach where he hoped to find Leasha and Sidney. Sure enough, Leasha was found getting a sun tan near the beach. Sidney, not surprising, was found asking some of the ladies out. It looks like he got a taker because he was soon found with a hot girl holding his arm. Waylen went over towards Leasha and asked, “So, how are you doing? I’ve got good news.”
“Oh, what is that? I hope you got me something.” She smiled.
“I in fact did, but you can’t hold it. Can you guess why you can’t hold it?”
“Why? Is it because you haven’t paid for it in full yet?”
“Actually, you’re right in a way but we still have it.”
“Alright, what is it?”
“We get a week off instead of just four days off.”
“Oh, I get it. So, you asked for me? That is nice. However, you said the present was not paid for? Did Mazon say what the catch was?”
“That we basically owe him a favor. I only dread what he wants us to do for the trade off!”
Leasha frowned and then she kicked a shell was near her. “Well, let’s at least enjoy ourselves while we can! I mean, we only have a week before we will not have any time to enjoy ourselves, so let’s make it last while we can.” Waylen looked over at Sidney, almost laughing as he watched.
“Well, I agree. Sidney has a good start on his fun. Let’s go find some shells or something while we are on this beach, maybe even buried treasure.”
“Oh, so are we going to need shovels? I dig that activity!”
“Haha, you’re very funny. Yea, let’s go find some shovels.”
After they got their shovels, they went to the beach to start digging. They found a few items, but most of which is cans or just plain junk. Leasha finally stopped for a bit to rest. “I think Mazon's soon-to-be-title is just a Super Supreme Ridiculous Title. He is going to call himself ‘His Excellency, Super Supreme Grand Game Master, and King of the Dimension of Destiny, Mazon’. I think that is taking it a bit too far.”
“He’s only going to make it bigger, like a balloon inflating as his ego increases. Why, the next thing you know, he will call himself, ‘His Super Supreme Excellency, Super Mega Awesome Supreme Grand Great Master, and DOOM King Mazon’.”
“Common you amateur, he would do even greater than that with his ego.”
“Oh sorry, I didn’t know you were an expert on Mazonegotism!”
“Well, I may be an expert, but you are the one who gave it a name.”
“Isn’t that funny? We must be doctors or something because we diagnosed Mazon with a symptom that we just gave a name. I wonder what he would think of his diagnosis.”
“Hey, that’s not me,” she mimicked Mazon. “Check your machine again doc! I do not have any Mazonegotism! I only have a title that breaks HTML pages and documents. So OK, maybe I think am superior to everyone…OK, also the fact I want to put everyone into a dimension and rule over them` as their master- well, maybe I DO have Mazonegotism. How do I cure it?”
Then it was Waylen’s turn to play the doctor. “You take an egg and crack it on your head. That is the first step of curing Mazonegotism- using an egg to cure ego.” Waylen stopped to laugh. “Then you must go to the desert to cook that egg. When it gets cooked enough you then eat the egg.”
“So that will cure me?”
“Why sure…why wouldn’t it- except for the fact that it has nothing to do with Mazonegotism. Now, now, everyone knows the cure to Mazonegotism is to not be Mazon, to not have a ridiculous title, give away all your money to Waylen, and to lock yourself in a prison.”
“Wait doctor,” Leasha almost laughing, “How can I NOT be Mazon? How does giving Waylen money help my ego go away?”
“Umm, well- you see, there is no cure to Mazonegotism. I just want money for wasting my time. See to it that you throw yourself in prison.”
“OH YEA? I will prove to the world how much I rock and will make everyone love me!”
“And so, that begins our epic quest.” Waylen narrated. “To find a way to defeat the vile Mazon and make him see how much Mazonegotism he really has.”
“Good luck. He will never see how much he really has; it’s really sad.” Leasha sighed.
“Well, we can always try. Hey, look over there,” said Waylen as he was pointing to a spot on the beach. “I think I see something the water has uncovered by the shore.” Leasha looked over and seen the same thing Waylen had just spotted.
As they came over to approach the object partially covered in the sand, a seagull came from out of nowhere and swooped up the object. When the seagull picked the object up, it was identified as a notebook. It should have been soaked, but still held the chance to have something readable in it.
Leasha, without thinking, picked up a seashell and tried to throw it at the seagull but missed. She got angry and picked up another but missed yet again. “Dang it, I wanted to see what’s in the notebook! Stupid seagull, I wish I could shoot you.”
“You know, throwing seashells couldn’t do a thing to a seagull except make them think you are stupid. Besides, that notebook is probably too washed up to read anything in it.”
A big BANG was heard across the beach. They turned around to see Sidney with his pistol and the book next to him. The bird that had the book was not injured, but was scared half to death as it flew off. “Wish granted,” said Sidney as he picked up the book with a grin. “Only I get the shot, not you. You may also be surprised to know that this notebook is in perfect condition-“
“Impossible!” Leasha said with protest.
“A regular notebook would be, yes. However, the author must visit the beach often to have it protected with lamination. I guess we are lucky he or she has taken extra protection and laminated it.”
Sidney looked at the cover of the book, his eyes opened up, and his jaw almost dropped. “You wouldn’t believe what we just found.” Waylen stared at the sky for a few seconds and shrugged. “What, the diary of Director Stranglehold?”
“Hey, how did you know?”
“What, are you serious?!?”
“Why would I lie about a thing like this? It is a very important clue to where he could be located! I hope we can use this to our advantage. It may even help us in another way.”
“Well, we need for one thing to make sure this doesn’t fall in Mazon’s hands. I know for sure what he would use for this information!” Waylen took the book and together, they all went over to the house Mazon had gave them to stay at while in Honolulu, Hawaii. As Waylen laid the book down, he had a hungry look on his face.
“Well, this seems to be a diary alright, but it lists only things about the Dimension of Destiny. In addition, it is actually an audio log that only looks like a book. By the looks of things, it is an advanced one too. It seems like most of the logs are locked except a few.”
“Wait,” Leasha, exclaimed, “if that is not really a book, why laminate it? Would the water make the device not work?” Sidney looked at it and sighed. “Well, from the looks of it, I’d say it has been water proofed as well. I think he laminated the book part to keep the look of deception. It also has written log to help the look even more. The important things must be locked away in the audio portion. If we can guess a few passwords, we may get even more information.”
Waylen took the book and said, “Well, let’s at least hear the audio logs open to us. Maybe they may contain hints of his location or something.” Waylen found the button to play log one.
The device came to life and said:
“This is Valen Stranglehold; Log 1 of the Dimension Project. Dated April 1, 20**.
“I’m going to use this to log my findings and daily work with the Dimension Project. All right, today was the big day; Geovanni was to announce who was working with the Dimension Project. Of course, I was a shoe in for the position of working with most of the programming. They see how I love working with the programs and seem to have very little trouble.
“Along with me was Mac Greevil; a person who I have bad feelings about when I work near him-quite frankly, I think he is downright crazy. Oh, and I almost forgot. The other person’s name was Lemmy Truemen; a person who shows much promise in our kind of work. Together, Geovanni plans on us four to work on the dimension and the Master Computer of Destiny; whose sole purpose is to manipulate the unknown matter that was found in this dimension, which we recently opened into.
“Now, how he found out how to get into that dimension, we may never know. I just assume it was ether an accident or he is beyond super genius! Some may say what we are doing is kinda like playing God by creating a new world from this dimension. However, I quote; we are not doing anything of the like. Unlike God, we cannot create life.
“We can only create matter from this new substance- a substance which unlike in our world, can multiply like cells and turn into any kind of matter if its structure is manipulated- and program computers to control what they do, act, and look like.
“This has gone to a big debate among the fellow VFL members. Some argue that this is the work and power of a great evil and/or that this is an abomination. I must admit, I feel the topic is somewhat related to the act of cloning; only this is a bigger scale. My opinion of the subject is somewhat neutral. Though we have yet to realize the true capability of the project, I promise that we will soon be in front of a gate of endless opportunity.
“For the next few minutes, you will hear the recorded conversation- between me, Geovanni, Greevil, and Truemen- that goes on later that day. However, this also comes as a video. If you plug this device in a TV in the next 30 seconds, you will get to see what all happens as well.” Waylen then walked to the TV and plugged it in.
“OK, this begins our meeting,” Geovanni said with enthusiasm. “Now, first we must get down to business. Before I continue, I must congratulate you all on being selected. You have proven to be the best in the world for this job. Now, we have much to discus.” Truemen took a stand and said, “Yes, I agree with you. You have picked the best but you must not forget that you yourself found the Dimension of Destiny. We would like to know how you did it. It brings up many questions.”
“Yes, I will tell you later. Now, I must ask you; what brought you here? Did you come here for money, glory, or even power? I just want to know your intentions.”
“I came here for none of those,” Truemen stated. “I might have for a bit of glory but mainly to see how I may help a major breakthrough. I also know we will be paid a lot but I am here for the opportunity. When something like this comes knocking on your door, you can’t ignore it.”
Greevil stirred in his chair then said, “Oh, I always did love games with lots of violence. Now I finally get to make a game that allows me to live it. Oh, I sure do love the three things you mentioned, I mean, who would not? This is like the biggest thing since…like ever. This is the kind of thing that is in Sci-Fi movies, only we are actually living it. With this project, we can live even more of those situations. There’s nothing like a world that can always be changed- for better or worse.”
Finally, Director Stranglehold got up and said, “Well, I’m here because I’d like to further this amazing breakthrough. With the MCOD, we shall make the greatest experiences possible for everyone to live. I know many of you may have differences and many similarities. But know this; we are working on one of the greatest projects of all times.”
Geovanni got up and exclaimed, “Well said. That kind of attitude is why we are all here. We are here to make history. Directors, you all have great power but it comes with great responsibility. That is why I chosen you three for this task. Now you must wonder how I found the Destiny Dimension. Well, as you all should know, theoretically it takes a lot of power to open the portal to the dimension. Now, could you guess a very powerful, almost unlimited energy source?”
Greevil gasped. “You not saying- “
“An almost unlimited energy resource you say?” Truemen repeated. “You mean the same energy the sun uses with Hydrogen Fusion? No one has figured out-“
“True Mr. Truemen, but with the help of a friend, I recently discovered how to properly collect energy from Hydrogen Fusion. People have been looking for a great way to get energy but right here is what those people have been dreaming. I call it, the HFES- Hydrogen Fusion Energy Source.
“However, there are still a few things with the HFES that needs to be worked on. For instance, if no one is careful, there could be very huge problems. Lots of energy is being produced while doing this, so the HFES must be constantly monitored or it could overheat and overflow the machines getting the power. This breaking news among the dimension seems overwhelming, right?”
“Yes, you are responsible for two ground breaking discoveries,” said Truemen.
“Yes, now we could go on and on but we have other things to discuss. To continue, we used that power to open the portal. To much disbelief, there was oxygen in the dimension. We must have stumbled across a world similar to ours when we opened a portal to the Destiny Dimension. However, what was even stranger was what we found in that world. I will brief you on that another time as well as tell you how I pin pointed exactly where that dimension was.”
“Well, I look forward to hearing what you found, sir.”
“Thank you, Mr. Truemen. Now we will take a break a meet here later.”
The device then switched to the audio log. “That was some important information most people don’t even know. I was excited to meet him and then from there on, I was inspired to do the best job I could possibly do. I know some people in the future will say I went ballistic on the Destiny Project but know it is true, for at this very hour, I am bursting with creativity. End of log 1.”
“Wow, so Geovanni is responsible for the HFES? I thought so,” Sidney sighed. “Because the most expected thing happened; Mazon took the credit. Is there ANYTHING he does not take credit for? He sure is egotistical. I mean he really has a big ego.”
Leasha laughed. “No, he has Mazonegotism.”
“Oh, so you even named the amount of ego he has?”
Waylen raised his hand. “Actually, I am the one who named it. Though, Leasha is the expert in Mazonegotism apparently.”
“Well, I wouldn’t say that. It doesn’t take a genius to know what that mad man has.”
“Anyways, we did get some important info. I just hope we can get into some more logs for his current location. Some of them are named but those are locked. We could try to look for a more recent entry.” Waylen looked through the book. He saw a written log that caught his eye. “Good news, I think this log is exactly what we are looking for.”
The log was titled “My lab near the volcano”, it read:
“I’m not going to put down the usual stuff in this log, so excuse that. After all those years working with Geovanni, the one thing I hated most was being around his son, Mazon. He is evil and only cares about himself.
“Now ever since he ran the VFL after his father’s disappearance, things have run down hill. I quickly bought a ticket to Hawaii to get away. No one knows who I am for I have a fake id as Ronald Franks. Let's just say I have people in high places. However, I do come out of disguise sometimes.
“My current location as of my last log and as of November 1, 20** is Pearl City, Hawaii. I am aware of the fact he may look for me. So for extra protection, I really don’t live at a specific address. However, in case someone finds this log who is not a Mazon loyalist and wishes to find me, can find me at the Ewa Beach in disguise around 7:24 am every Saturday for about an hour. Most any other day would be around 7:24 pm for about 2-4 hours. I can tell if you are an underling of his.
“I also can’t believe what Mazon is doing. He is not only trying to make a computer materialized army, but he is even experimenting on humans using the strange power of the Destiny Dimension as well as hydrogen fusion injection mixed with the DNA of various animals and creatures. He wants to make a Superhuman and make life better he says. I believe otherwise.
“He is planning on abusing both the projects his father worked on for World Domination. He even has the nerve to say I do not even want to work and that I ONLY care for money. That is such nonsense! It boils me down to see such a man like Mazon lie like that and actually gets believed. I guess that is the cost of having a secret company. I can only imagine him making up other bogus lies about me. In addition, before I go, I will add that the other logs have information more on what Mazon is truly doing. End of log.”
“Well that doesn’t surprise me there.” Sidney said, “Only thing that surprises me is that part about making Super humans. How is he going to inject Hydrogen Fusion Energy into a human?”
Waylen looked at Sidney and shrugged. “I don’t really know how for sure, but I guess anything is possible at this point, eh?”
“Guess you’re right. Hey, what time is it?” Leasha looked at her phone and said, “It’s 7:20am. If we hurry, we can find Dr. Stranglehold. Now the question is, what does he look like and how do we approach him? Should we ask around for Ronald Franks or Valen Stranglehold?”
Sidney grabbed a photo from his pocket. “I think this will help us identify him. He says he is under disguise, but I think he will look like himself when he goes to the beach. There is this spot where people hardly visit on Ewa beach where he is most likely located. Yea, I think we should tell him who we know him to be and hope he doesn’t try to run.”
They got into their car to drive to the beach. As they were closing in at the spot Sidney mentioned, they seen a lone man who matched the description of the photo. As they pulled up near him, he looked up at them with curious eyes. “Is there a problem or something you want,” said the man. Sidney took out his photo and said, “Yea, we are looking for you Director Stranglehold. We found your log near the beach here and we need your assistance to help us against Mazon.”
“Ah, so you do, eh? Well, I’ll need proof that you aren’t working for him.”
“What proof do we need? The fact that he is a crazy madman with a ridiculous name is proof enough that only people who care about money or fear him could only work for a man like him.”
“Ah, is that so, Sidney? Why do you still work for him?”
“You know my name? I only work for him to fly and that’s it.”
“Of course, you are like a very famous pilot among us who the world just doesn’t know yet. Ah, so you must be Waylen and Leasha. Don’t be surprised, Director Stranglehold knows his employees well.” Waylen blinked and stared at the man. “Aren’t you the Director?”
“Who me? Nope, the name is Doan Felsworn. I work for him and purposely put that log where you found it in hope you all would find it. He is not here himself just in case Mazon found it and tried to capture him. Now, I shall take you to him; just follow me in my car. We need to go to Hilo and since it’s on a different isle, we will need to fly.”
Don’t worry,” said Sidney, “The best pilot in the world will fly you there in no time.”
“Best pilot, eh? You may be one of the best, but I’m not too sure about-“
“Oh Doan, don’t give me that. You know I fly better than most people you ever met and you have met many people. I even got rewards and if it were not for Mazon keeping them quiet, I would be better known. So, when we fly over, where are we heading from there?”
“We are to go to Volcano; it’s next to its park. The Director has hidden his lab near there. Now, I will meet you over at the airport you arrived at. One last thing- Waylen, could you give me your phone?” Waylen looked at him and shrugged. “Sure, I guess. It died an hour ago.”
“Even better, because I believe whatever you said when it was alive was being transmitted over to Mazon’s HQ. I will go ahead and debug it so you can still use the phone. I also think it has a tracker, so if I find it I can see about tricking them to think you are leading them somewhere.”
Doan worked on the phone very quick and then handed it back. “There, that should do it. I will properly dispose of the tracker before we take off.” Doan then walked over to his car hidden nearby and started it up and waved them over to follow. They then followed Doan in their own car in the hope to find Valen Stranglehold.
------------------------------------
Mazon was so happy. Everything was falling into place, all he now had to do was find his father’s notes- maybe even his father- and find Director Stranglehold. Mazon leaned back in the chair of his office. Yes, soon I shall have everything in place. The experiments are being perfected and all the other tests are running smoothly. This is just too easy.
Then he heard a knock on his door. Darn it, I told people not to bother me while I gloat over my accomplishments inside my head.
“Apparently someone didn’t read the memo. This better be important!”
“It is, sir- Err, I mean Your Excellency.”
“Come in and don’t make me wait, I pity the fool who does.”
The man walked in with a big stack of documents. As he stepped in, he dropped a page and tried to pick it up but only ended up making them all fall out of his hands. “Are you making a fool of yourself? STOP FOOLING AROUND YOU NINCOMPOOP!” Mazon screamed.
“Ye- yes sir, your greatness. Sor- sorry, Your Excellency. I- I just dropped a page and it- it fell- please…forgive me for-”
“No excuses, just hurry up and quit wasting my time, money, and get on with it.”
The man looked hopeless as he tried to gather to paper. “Today, sir. Today.” Mazon yelled once more, “Why do I hire such worthless idiots? Tell me, why do I hire idiots like you?”
The man almost seemed to cry. “Could you give me a-“
“I dare you to finish that sentence, go ahead. Just make my day.”
The man did not take the bait as he soon gathered the documents and set them on the long discussion table. “I have a report for you. It is about the experiments. We have a few failures, sir.”
“Failures? What kind of failures? I sure hope it’s not as bad as you.”
“Well, it would seem the experiments we couldn’t number have become unstable, both mentally and physically. The Power-nitro-gibbous inserted in their brain has caused a massive mind loop in their brain, sir.” Mazon gave him a look. “A mind loop? What is the supposed to mean?”
“Your Excellency, they have become the stupid version of a tactician.”
“Either you start making sense or I’ll hire someone who will.”
“They can make excellent plans, sir. However, they always make the plan fail no matter what happens. They second-guess too much and they are horrible at taking orders. Why, the only good thing they can do is be a meat shield, sir. They still would fail even that mission due to being easily distracted. We have no idea how to correct them, sir.”
“So, you can’t number them, eh? OK, I will do it for you. From now on, they are to be referred as Experiment 0; their name is Failguy due to their failure. So, do not tell me that failure is all the messenger full of fail will tell me. Give me some good news.”
“Well, call me the messenger of bad news due to the fact that is all I have to report except one good matter, Supreme Master.” Mazon sighed. Why me? Just when something starts to end up going right, something else has to be a total failure, just like this messenger. “Alright, at least tell me the one bit of good news before I get angry.” The messenger gathered his notes. “It would seem our tracker in Waylen’s phone is picking up signals that he is now traveling great distances as we speak.”
“So, what to you make of it? You think they may found figured out Director Stranglehold’s location? How do you know exactly if he is looking for him? He may just be going to another part of the isle just to relax or explore.”
“Well, we recently also bugged the phone to where you can hear their conversation if you flip the switch. It’s just as if you are calling them without them knowing so.”
“Excellent, at least that’s good for the most part. So, what did they say to make you think they are looking for him?”
“They recently found a log book of the Director, sir.”
“Hmm, I didn’t even know he had one. Well, continue.”
“They have seen a log that told them to go to Ewa beach to find him at certain times of the day. The bad news is that we were unable to hear anymore after that. His phone must have been turned off or is dead but we are still able to track him. They are heading for Alaska.”
“Something about that doesn’t add up. Are you sure?”
“Yes, our tracker is 100% positive. It has never failed us before.”
“Well then, it would seem they have indeed found him. I do not think they are going to spend the rest of their vacation time off in Alaska. So, what do you propose we do? Say the right thing and I will forgive your failure today.”
“I say we send the ROD agents to close in on them and as they find him, they nab him and capture them.”
“Well, close enough I guess. Well, whatever bad news you have left, save it. I want to bask in the moment, off with you.”
“Yes, sir. Good day, Your Excellency.” Then the messenger left. Mazon turned around in his chair and started to think. So, they tried to find him without me knowing, eh? This only gives me a few conclusions about what is really going on. I shall ask the ROD spies what they found out.

Chapter 4: A Wind of Deception.

A few moments later, Franso entered the room with a few of his agents and greeted Mazon. “Well, if that bug didn’t tell you enough, we can at least tell you what they were doing.”
“So Franso, there is something you can add to help solve this mystery?”
“Yes, we can. Now, they did nothing special until like around today when they seem to have that mentioned log book. Sidney even helped and scared the bird that tried to take the book by shooting at it with his pistol. Now, after they were told to meet him at Ewa beach, they have seen a person posing as him who is really his assistant. This is around the point we lose our feed from the phone. So we can only guess that based on our technology that identified him as Doan Felsworn.”
“So, do you know where they are heading? The tracker is showing them going to Alaska. I must admit, something seems fishy about that.”
Franso grinned. “Well, we thought the same thing, so we went ahead and used a satellite to scan for any aircraft that is heading for Alaska. And guess what our results are?”
“They really aren’t heading there, right?”
“That’s we are starting to suspect, sir. In fact, we have seen no trace of ROD1337 going anywhere off Hawaii. Yet, the tracker is reporting them going to Alaska. This comes down to these few conclusions: They are not really going to Alaska. Or they are on a different Aircraft.”
“What are the chances they are doing the latter?”
“Well, unless they really are hiding it from you, I’d say that isn’t happening. So that only concludes that they are still there and that they stuck our tracker on another aircraft heading that way.”
“Well either way, that shows that they are defiant of me. They shall pay for this treachery.”
Mazon paced back and forth, as he was thinking. Well, so they think they can out smart me do they? Well, we shall see about that. I think I should show them who is truly in control of things.
“What do you have in mind for them, Your Excellency?”
“I have nothing specific yet. Though whatever it will be, they will not like it.”
------------------------------------
Sidney signed as he buckled in the private jet of Doan Felsworn. He muttered. “I am a pilot of the great ROD1337, yet I’m being flown by an amateur pilot in a small jet.”
Doan must have heard him because he said, “Now, that is just what they expect you to leave with. It will not kill you to be flown by another pilot. By far, he is no amateur. Maybe by your standards but not by mine. Now we will use this jet so we won’t be spotted leaving this island. I even managed to lose the ROD spies. I think they don’t know where we are yet.”
“Yea, you think.” Sidney grumbled. Waylen laughed, “What’s the problem?”
“The problem,” Sidney roared, “Is that I really do love ROD1337. I almost love it too much.”
“Actually, I think you do love it too much.”
“Maybe you’re right. However, I still do not think it makes one darn difference wither we use ROD1337 or not. They are just going to stay far back enough that when we find the Director they will just pounce on the opportunity and capture all of us. I mean, we aren’t even armed in this baby. How can we fight back if they appear?”
Doan laughed. Sidney looked at him and asked, “What’s so funny at a time like this?”
“The reaction you’re giving over just a silly aircraft.”
“It’s JUST a silly aircraft? I am sorry but you must not know your plans and jets because this one tops them all! It would be like me taking away your house saying, ‘It’s just a house, go live in a tent.’ And I know how nice your house is and how much it means to you.”
“Yes your right, but you are the one overreact-“
“Hey you two, how about we agree to disagree?” Waylen suggested.
“Yea, we should save the energy and fighting for Mazon’s minions.” Leasha agreed.
Sidney laughed, “You right. I did overreact a bit there. I guess when you do something you love too much and it’s taken away, you get a bit upset.”
------------------------------------
Mazon looked disappointed and frustrated as he paced back and forth in his office. “What do you mean you have no idea where they are located? Please explain to me why the best agents in the world cannot keep track of just four people? No, I will tell you. There is no reason at all! I want agents all around Hawaii immediately!”
“Sir, our agents are spread out as it is to make sure the world doesn’t know anything about our operation. We have our best agents trying to keep track-” Mazon interrupted Franso. “And yet you still fail?!?” Mazon looked like a volcano ready to blow! “So tell me, Franso. Give me a good reason not to cut your pay in half and any benefits thereof?”
“Because I know a trick we can use to find them.”
“Oh, really, then tell me how you are going to do it.”
“Well, I don’t see why I should spoil it- other than the fact I know what you will do if I don’t comply. However, I still need to work out the small details before revealing it.”
“So that’s you’re excuse? Well, just make sure we know their location within 48 hours. Even 48 hours is pushing it.” Mazon sighed. I swear, if I do not get that director in here soon…I am going to strangle those idiots!
“Your Excellency, I can do it within 6 hours. It will be 12 hours tops.”
“Great. See to it that you do. Now, off with you. I will check on the experiments. I am hoping for great results.” Mazon walked over to the experiment center. He noticed the room with the very notable failed experiments, experiment 0. I just wish there were no failures.
As he continued down the long hall, the experiment rooms were in numerical order. Well, at least we have more successes than failures. We have only one failure out of more than one thousand experiments. “I just wonder how my top experiment is doing.” Mazon said to himself as he walked down the hall. “It shows much potential in all I hope to accomplish. It is only shame that we wasted over 1 million people in the process of making this experiment. It is a good thing that we spread out our abductions so that it would not be too obvious!
“Either way, even though we have a great success rate, I’m responsible for more than 1 billion deaths over the years in illegal human experimentation. I feel so good about that number. I think it was brilliant to somehow get the blame on all those numbers being a result of terrorist attacks and other cover ups.”
As Mazon walked down the long hallway, he looked through a window at an experiment that was his second favorite experiment. “This is a year where almost anything is possible. Some people do not even know half of it. They shall soon see the fruit of my hard work. So far, we have had great results with the experimentation. The deaths are only caused because of some accidents that included an overdose of HFE.
“Some had to die due to being out of control and had to be put down. Some like those Failguys are to have a different purpose than originally intended. I was going to put them down, however they seem to have outstanding Stamina. They can take the biggest, badest beating and still act as if almost unaffected. In fact, they have the nerve to ask for more punishment.
“To say the least, I think they may be useful once we can get past their intellect.” He then found the Scientist who was watching over the experiment that Mazon called Experiment 666- for he knew how evil that experiment was.
“So, how are the readings? How violent has she gotten over the week? Please, do tell. Saragace, I've been hearing good things.”
Saragace looked at Mazon and nodded. “She is doing well. She is slowly, but steadily growing more violent each day. I think she is a perfect success of what you wanted with the right amount of torture and Power-nitro-gibbous, of course. Her strength is also impressive! Why, she can out lift any man I ever seen. The Powernite as you call it works like a charm at increasing both physical and mental strength. We tested her and she seems to be using 27% of her brain which is extraordinary because we on average normally use like 10%.”
“Excellent! Now I would like to be frank- We do not call it torture. We call it strength endurance training. Now, I am glad you have good news, unlike some people. For being such a good Director, I'm going to show you something.”
“Sir, what would that be?”
“Well, if you could follow me, I will show you.” Saragace followed Mazon in into the room Mazon mentioned. The room had nothing in it and seemed to be nothing but white walls, white ceilings, and white floors. “Wait, what’s in here, sir?”
“I will tell you- Oh, I think I left something I needed in that other room ahead. Please stay here while I go get what I need and I’ll be back.” Saragace just nodded as Mazon walked into the next room. Suddenly, the two doors of the room Saragace was still in instantly locked.
“Wait, what’s the meaning of this?”
“Oh, I’m sorry. I must have pushed the wrong button. Here, let me unlock that for you.”
Instead of unlocking the door, the room was spraying knockout gas.
“You’re a traitorous vile wretch!”
“You did such a good job, I am afraid I no longer need you as a human. I am starting to run out of people to experiment on, so I decided you would be a great volunteer. You being a scientist must make you want to know how it feels to be the experimented. Well, I am going to give you that experience wither you like it or not. What better person to test the effects of experiment 666. You two will make a lovely couple! The question is: are we still friends?” Mazon said that with a laugh.
“You’re going to pay for this! I'll turn into your worst nightmare and kill you!”
“Yes, you go ahead and do that! However, as you will soon see, I am giving you more than knockout gas. I will make you forget who and what you are. By the time you wake up, you will be my loyal puppet. You will do whatever I want.”
“I'll never forget or forgive-” Saragace stopped as he soon fell asleep. After 30 seconds of giving him gas to make sure he was sleeping, Mazon stopped the gas and walked over to Saragace.
“Yes, and that is what will make you truly evil and my greatest warrior…my evil prodigy.”
------------------------------------
“Well, that was a pleasant trip.” Sidney said as he unbuckled and grabbed his bags. “Well don’t worry,” said Doan, “You will get to fly ROD1337 before too long. Now we should hurry up and get to Director Stranglehold’s Lab quickly before they know where we are.”
A few hours later, they arrived at Volcano. The lab was huge with many scientists running around. Waylen looked at the busy scientists and said, “I see a lot of the scientists who worked with the Dimension project are here as well.”
“Yes,” said Doan, “There is quite a bit of them who thought the same feelings about Mazon, which is no brainer for most people who truly know him.”
Waylen looked at Leasha and laughed, “See, my club will fill up quick. We should really make an anti-Mazon Club.” Leasha could only laugh. “Well a club has to have something fun to do in order for it to be a true club.”
“What could be more fun than mocking Mazon's ego?”
“Because he is an easy target-”
“Are you sure? How about you go tell it to his face and call him an easy target.”
“Alright, I get your point. So Doan, where is Director Stranglehold in this huge lab?”
Doan pointed over to a sunroom over near an office. “He is usually caught up in his work in the sun-room but if not, he is probably in his office.”
------------------------------------
Mazon fidgeted while waiting on Saragace’s results while sitting down at the lab’s main conference room. “Well, is he starting to get his own treatment already? I need him to immediately start up on the Powernite.”
Chester Fickle walked up to Mazon and said. “Yes, he is, sir. More importantly, we gave him the experimental memory shock treatment. It was a total success as he knows nothing and remembers nothing. However, he does know he has pain and that there is someone out there to hate for his treatment. So, I take it you also want to tell me something?”
“Yes, you are now the new Director of Dimensional Science. You are replacing Saragace and a few others. You are replacing the others due to the same reasons and since I am merging those sectors. So, how does it feel to replace your mentor and experiment on him at the same time? I would like to know how my new Director feels about it.”
Chester stretched as he gave a happy expression. “Oh, it feels good. I cannot lie; I did not like him too much. He serves under the banner of Science and so he is just a sacrificial soldier to our cause. He should be happy to serve our cause!”
“Now that is just the kind of attitude I want our Director of Science to have.”
“Thank you, sir. I'm glad to work here.” Chester saluted Mazon.
“Now do you have the results from experiment 1337? As great as 666 is, this is our true weapon of power. I would also like to know how my shadow bots are doing. You have a lot of responsibility now that you’re the director of 5 different sections that has combined as one.”
“You mean Mr. Elite himself, eh? Well, by far, the results are amazing. If 666’s theme is evil, than 1337’s is being elite in everything. I think you picked a good number for this experiment. As for the shadow bots, I only wish it was as promising.”
“So they aren’t doing too well? Can you diagnose the problem?”
“Well as with some of the experiments, the problem is trying to get the right amount of HFE into the bots without overloading them. HFE by far is very powerful and new, sir.”
“Yes, it is and we sure don’t want to waste the opportunity it gives us. For the longest time, man has tried to find a great energy source, but we have found it.” Mazon pounded his fist against the table. “However, we still have the problem of controlling the energy. It is an enormous amount of energy so we must have several energy lines and places to store it. The greatest difficulty is not overloading the lines. Why, just a small percentage of HFE is enough to fry some computers like a lightning bolt striking them.”
“Well actually, I have ‘shocking’ news.” Chester laughed. “The bots are NOT getting too much power; they are actually getting too little.”
Mazon turned red. “They can’t be getting too little?!? That is impossible! That is enough to fry-”
Chester interrupted. “Yea, it’s enough to fry computers but not these bots. They are taking lots of power for some unknown reason; we hope to reduce their energy cost in the future to make the most of the bots. They need more efficiency as they are using over 1,000 bolts per minute. We are currently feeding them 34% of what they need.”
Mazon looked skeptical. “What could be making them use that much power? I designed them myself and they should be only using about twice the amount of a common laptop. I find something fishy; something like sabotage is in my mind. Could you find anyone or a guilty party who is responsible?”
“No one on my mind- except Saragace, but that’s impossible. He is the only one but me with that kind of access and last I checked he did nothing to the bots before his capture. However, I may have a theory that may be unable to be proved. But I suggest he planted a bug in the bots long before his capture as if he knew something was going to happen and he was going to be betrayed.”
“That may be it…” Mazon soon fell into deep thought. So he did know me a bit better than I thought. I wonder how far he went with his sabotage. I sure hope it does not have anything to do with experiment 0 going crazy just around his gassing. “No, I know that’s it. He must have but the question is how he did it and where is the bug located.”
“Well, if he used some sort of remote, we can try to use that to track the bug or bugs. Now, I don’t remember seeing him with a remote so he may have hidden it, or…”
Mazon finished the sentence. “…Or did he destroy it as soon as he used it and hidden the remains of the remote.”
“That is possible. He could even have something like a shoe to activate it. We will try to find how and what he used to find it very quickly so we can solve this mystery.”
“Also, I’ve noticed another thing you may have not, Chester. I believe he gave rings to the experiments. Rings I believe allow him to have power and/or control over the experiments.”
It was Chester’s turn to turn Skeptical. “Rings? I don’t remember seeing anything like that.”
“Of course you didn’t see them. He has embedded them into their fingers. I only know because I hid some cameras in my labs. He has taken great measures for something only to be disappointed.”
“What would make him disappointed?”
Mazon smiled wickedly as he lifted his hand and on his hand was a golden ring with a dark green emerald in it. “This ring will make him regret that he made rings to try to control my play things. This has the power to overpower his ring and control him. I shall pour out my wraith and anger and make him more hateful. It is ironic that this has a somewhat Lord of the Rings feel to it. ‘One ring to rule them all.’ It is true; this ring has that kind of power. I found this ring on my latest trip to the Dimension of Destiny.”
“Sir, isn’t that dangerous? It was found with air and water like our world, but it’s not safe-“
“Safe…what is truly safe these days? Well, it matters not. I have found something very important. This ring was found along with a notebook with instructions. Who ever it belonged to, this ring was meant for someone, which also leads me to believe there is someone else who lives in the dimension. Now as for the ring’s importance, it may be the key to total control of this dimension.
“It has no power in this world except over those who were made from or in the dimension. This means I have control over the experiments.”
“But sir, they were not created in or from the dimension.”
“Did you forget already? The rings were.”
“How do you know?”
“I’ve seen him go into the dimension when he thought no one was watching. When he came back, he had a suite case with him. From there, he went to most of the experiments and embedded the rings on them. Now the question is, did he create them, or did someone else.”
“Hey, wasn’t your ring created from there?”
“Yes, but I did in fact find it.”
“Then he must have found them as well.”
“Good observation. Now, I also found more than just a ring…”
------------------------------------
“I sure hope he doesn’t find that ring,” Director Strangle said as he looked at readings on his computer. Then a knock came from his office door. “Come in.” He said as he got up to greet Waylen, Leasha, and Sidney. “I’ve been hearings things about what Mazon has been doing lately. I do not like them one bit. I am glad to meet you all finally, as I know you have been trying to reach me since you got on ROD1337.
“If you wonder how I know, it’s because that bugged intercom is also bugged by me as well. From info I heard from you all, I slipped the audio log where you would most likely be. Fortunately I was right and you got it from a mangy seagull.”
“So what if we didn’t get it or if someone else got your log?” Waylen Questioned.
“I’d find another way; most likely involving my assistant getting the log back in a place you could receive it. Now, as you may have heard for yourself, Mazon is trying to get me to come back to his lab to fix a few issues with the re-engineering he did with the MCOD as well as help him find a few of the codes Geovanni has hidden well.
“I also have a few insider spies who still appear loyal to Mazon. In a few minutes, I am supposed to hear what he has to say. If you stick around, you can also listen to our conversation.” They all agreed and waited for a few minutes and then they got a call. The Director put him on speaker. “He has found it! He has found the ring you mentioned!” The Spy said with dread.
“That is bad news indeed. If that ring has the power I fear it has, we will have to find a way to take it from him. What else have you heard?”
“He has betrayed Saragace and turned him into experiment 666.M and has placed Chester has the new director of science. They also have found out that Saragace has found rings and gave them to most of the experiments. We also have reports of Mazon finding something other than his master ring.”
------------------------------------
Chester’s eyes widened as he looked at Mazon as he unsheathed a huge long 2 handed sword. It also had a dark green emerald in the center like the ring. The blade of the sword looked like a diamond but its quality was somewhat different- it had a darker color.

The rest of the sword was made out of fine gold and silver. The sword seemed to have a presence that kept you on edge.
“Have you ever seen such a fine sword, Chester? I have also found this sword as well. This is no ordinary blade. In addition, if you think the blade of the sword is made of diamond, you are close. It is made out of a substance I would like to call Dark Diamond- the hardest substance with the most density in the world. It even beats regular diamond by 100 times in density.”
“How could such a blade be made when it’s so dense? Does Dark Diamond exist in our world? How much power will this blade add to yours?”
“Good questions. I will answer right away about how it is made. Your right, like diamond, that was the only thing that could scratch it, until now. However, with this being the densest, you would wonder how it could be shaped like this? Well, that part is hard to explain. Rather, I shall show you soon. Now, it also exists in our world. However, it was impossible until now to retrieve it.”
“You mean it’s found deeper in the earth than most of the other diamond? So, you are telling me it’s possible to go deeper into the earth now?”
“Well, not quite. However, I do know now it exists in the earth. Now, as for its power…” Mazon called Rayon to bring him a steel beam. The beam was laid vertically in the center of the lab. Mazon gripped his sword and then charged at the steel beam slicing it in two vertical pieces. “How many blades can do that? Chester, you are witnessing a very powerful weapon of melee combat. You know what would go nicely with that blade?”
“What would? I can’t quite think of anything else you would need.”
“Would you go into a sword fight with no armor? Heck no, you sure would not do that. Before you say anything, I did not find a dark diamond suite. However, I am sure there is one that exists in the dimension! That or I could make one. I do however have a surprise in store for you that not even you are aware of.”
“Your Excellency, there are a lot of things I’m not aware of but I at least know more than most.”
“That’s truth indeed. Now, how could the discovery of Dark Diamond aid us in our experimentation? Answer correctly and I shall show you something that will shock you.”
“Wait, you really don’t mean to somehow turn their bones into Dark Diamond to make them more durable or is it because it has something to do with its reaction with Powernite?”
“Well, it will make them more durable, but that's only a small reason. You were close when you said it has something to do with its reaction with Powernite. You see, Powernite needs something strong and resistant to its reaction to store it. Dark Diamond seems to be the only thing that can store it without a reaction. It has such a high influence with the other substances that even the most stable substances have a big reaction with it.
“Now the bones of the experiments will hold the majority of the Powernite but their blood vessels will hold the rest and it will mix with their blood. The reaction to the blood will make a new type of blood that will make them immune to most diseases and viruses. I call the new blood type M.”
“That is impressive but I think you are making more modifications than just that.”
“Yes, in fact the blood does much more than that; however I will keep the rest a secret and let you find out when they are in action.”
------------------------------------
Darkness...fear...a great cold breeze was all he felt in the cell. He knew his time would come when the men in lab coats would come and do more tests on him. He could not remember anything before waking up one day as a monster. Once a human but now a beast with a strange body- not his.
He heard some of the scientists say a few times, “You know, I almost feel sorry for those brutes.” Brutes? He was nothing like that. He still had his human mind...but it felt so different. His mind seemed to work like a computer and was able to multi task easily. Why he existed and who he was before this, he could not tell. Did he retain his personality or is he something very different? He wanted to yell out and have someone release him but he knew that was not going to happen!
However, he felt different from the rest of the experiments. He was like one of the only ones who seemed more human than the rest and that is saying something. Everyone called him Mr. Elite but he sure did not feel like he was treated like one. He only knew his nickname and the number they gave him, 1337. What is to come of me? Why are they doing this? It was the only thoughts in his head.
------------------------------------
Mazon smiled as he grabbed a wine glass and a bottle of strange red liquid. “This deserves a toast! What would hit the spot is a bottle of what I'd like to call Golagoo. This stuff is amazing!”
Chester gave a strange look at Mazon as he poured himself a glass of Golagoo. “What in the world is that stuff?”
Mazon smiled as he stirred the liquid in his glass. “You could call it medicine that can cure anything or the best drink of your life. This is a result of an experiment with Powernite and the strange substance in the Dimension. There are several different types of Golagoo. The first type I will explain is Yellow Golagoo.
“Its main function is to manipulate cells and atoms, like the ones in your body. It can be used to heal, make something different, and many other tasks. From giving big muscles to healing injures that would take years to heal in only a minute...it can do it all.”
Chester looked skeptical. “This is crazy! What type are you drinking?”
“Oh, and about the type I'm drinking is Red Golagoo. Its main function is to give energy, wither it be human or machine. However, that is only its main function. It can do much more than that if experimented with. There are many other types that exist. Further types can be created if mixed with other types. However, there is one particular type that is the most strange and even I must agree its power is to be feared.
“This strange type seems to have a will of its own. I mean, it's like it is alive or something. It grows and moves on its own. It has the same manipulative powers like the yellow type, however it uses the same abilities to take control of any object that must meet the following: Its cells must be alive or used to be; like the cells of a person or a tree. Fear the green type with your life. For it can have absolute control over you if it is allowed!”
Chester started shaking with fear. “Wah-What are-It is ALIVE!?! You mean it can move on its own? How did that come to be?”
“Unlike the other types of Golagoo, it is also combined with a type of fungus. The result is this Golagoo that can make most objects into a living object. If it targets a living creature, it takes it awhile to take full control. There are signs to watch for if you are starting to go under its influence. It depends where the Golagoo first made contact but it eventually reaches the brain. When it does, it is game over! There is a way to stop it before hand but it is tricky business.
“If it has contact with your legs, its progress is slowest but you will lose control over walking sooner. If it has contact with the abdomen, it will try to soak into your stomach, absorb your energy from your meals, and then will try to travel to your brain with ease. The same will happen if you drink or eat anything that has the Green Golagoo in it. Now if it has contact with your hands, its progress to your brain is quicker. It will soon control your hands then arms and make its way to your brain.”
Chester looked like he almost wanted to resign from his position and run away. Mazon laughed at the expression then continued.
“The absolute worst place to have contact with is your head in which case is quickest and will take only an hour to have complete control over you. You may have up to five hours if you're lucky. Now when I say it controls your arms and legs, I only mean it attempts to. In most cases, people will just feel resistance against their arms and legs. Depends on the person really. But once it reaches you're brain, it shuts all reactions in your body except the ones keeping you alive.”
Chester slammed his hands down on the table. “So is it a leach or a fungus? You make it sound like it is both! What are you doing? Did you also test this on people to gain this knowledge?”
Mazon gave a wicked laugh. “Of course I tested it on people! How else could I give out pacific details? I said I am doing many experiments. I also said I found out how to stop the Green Golagoo from spreading and how to extract it. Of course, if I can stop it then I can also learn how to control it so I can control its targets. It may or may not surprise you, but the person who did some of the testing was Saragace.”
“Well that would be no surprise. What are you getting at?”
Mazon sighed. “Those rings he found would be useless without Green Golagoo. The Golagoo he used was the type we managed to subdue and control using something that is the exact opposite of Powernite. I call it Golanite. It absorbs energy where Powernite gives off energy. Its interaction stops the Green Golagoo in its tracks. To clear things up, there is a receptor ring, which has the Golagoo in it, and the master ring, which controls it using the Golanite inside of the ring. It is hard to explain, but somehow it is as if the Green Golagoo can understand orders once you wear the master ring.
“That does prove that this is no mere mixture of chemicals but a living creature its self!”
Chester gasped. “What kind of creature is this?”
“I told you it is an experiment. Well I guess I should have hinted it better. Experiment 10 is its number. Unlike most of the other experiments, this is not human. It is not a fungus nor a leach but a fungal leach that due to the effects of Powernite now has high intellect compared to a human. It has a very different purpose now. It is now a slave to me, the holder of the true master ring. Whatever I want possessed, experiment 10 has it covered. Let the world pray I do not figure out its other powers. I did find one thing that goes against its old rules. It can also control computers with some patience.”
“Computers as well? You mean it can hack computers? It can also act like a computer virus?”
“Of course. You can say it is a physical computer virus. However, unlike any other types, this can go undetectable since it isn't even a program, which makes it scary for even the most protected computers. It manipulates the hard drive and can do anything any virus could do. It can turn off any firewall and protective program without administrative approval. Since this is being done through a totally different manner, it can get away with anything. This means I can access any information in the world! However, there will be some computers I need to insert experiment 10 manually.
“There are still limitations to what it can do but I'm confident that I can get past them.”
“Mazon, Your Excellency, you make it sound like it can travel via Internet. How is it possible for matter to travel through satellite waves?”
“Chester, you can be such a simpleton sometimes. How does information travel? How is it possible? Never question what is already possible. Well you are wrong; I never said it could travel through the Internet. However, you may have forgotten my spies throughout the world. They will spread my influence throughout the world. Most of the spies I have used to be loyal to their respective countries until I made them deals they cannot refuse. Kind of like what I've done with Waylen.”
“And if they refuse?”
Mazon laughed manically. “They can't, even if they wanted to. It is backed with a little scorpion stinger I like to call persuasion. It always works!”
“That makes me glad I'm working on the right side. I sure wouldn't want to be threatened by you, Your Excellency.”
“Indeed, I wouldn't want to have to deal with someone with power like me as well.”
“You seem to have an endless amount of power. Is there anything you can't do?”
Mazon chuckled. “You make me sound like a god. I have limits for I still have things I cannot do and I wish to expand that boundary. With the experiments, I shall accomplish that.

Chapter 5: The Tortured Souls.

It was a long sleepless night for experiment 1337. He looked up at the cell door and now noticed something that caught his eye. There was a sign that says, “Dave- Experiment 1337.”
Is that my name or is that some nickname that gave me now? I wish I knew more about who I am. I do not even know who is responsible for all this torture!
It was around 9:00 am and he knew it because some guards would usually show up and watch the experiments as if they were caged animals.
One of them was quite the talker. All he was known by was his nickname Big Mouth. Rayon seemed to be one of the only guards who actually wears his badge on his uniform. That is why Dave knew his name. The other guards just seemed to listen to Rayon and BM talk.
“One of these days I'll be rich and be flying in my private jet! I'll have so much money that I will actually use some of it to wipe my mouth on after dinner.” BM boasted.
“Why do that? Your shirt is good enough. After all, you already wipe your mouth on it. You know, you are such a boaster. How about living in reality for once? It must be good to live in fantasy isle! How is the weather there? 100% chance of not happening, that's what!” Rayon replied.
BM snorted. “Ah, don't be such a spoiled sport! I just think things will be better.”
“Better? You are better off than most people are! How does it feel to be paid 100 dollars an hour? Most people work two jobs and get half of that. Of course, it could be better, but even if we are the lowest ranked guards, we are still being paid more than some people and we do not even have to do the work worth it. Just get over it.”
“Ouch! Did someone sleep in the cell this time?” BM said while smiling.
Rayon rubbed his head for a bit. “Sorry about snapping at you like that. It's just these darned hours, that is all. Even if we are being paid like this doing hardly anything, we still work bad hours. What's more is the room we have to sleep in. I would like them to just cut my pay in half and let them get me a better bed and better work hours. You are right, things could be better. Starting with the bed! Class A guards have the best jobs!”
BM laughed. “I wonder what it is like to work as a class A guard? Class X is so boring. I would not mind changing places with any other class. They say we are going to have many people joining class X soon. With that many people joining, maybe the conditions for class X will finally change! I hope they do it very soon!”
Rayon laughed. “I doubt more additions to our squad will change conditions! It will only make it less quiet around here. Not to mention we will not be able to do Fun-day Monday with those newbs. I just hope Director Chester doesn't make the changes too soon!”
“I guess you are right. But I am surprised that many are brave after what I've seen.”
Rayon rolled his eyes. “Oh here we go.”
“I swear on my next paycheck I have seen something lurking in the darkness around those experiment cells. They are making a monster I tell you. Sure, they have their experiments but this goes on bigger than they explain. I have seen it- it was huge- it was evil!” BM starting making impressions of what he had seen which only made Rayon only laugh.
“And I'm sure you had lots to drink that night as well. Common, a monster? Half of what you have seen isn't even there. You are always seeing things and making up stories to tell the guys. BM, I know you better than you think. Now I'm not calling you crazy but I'm saying maybe a bit of an exaggeration? The only experiments they do is making “the better human”. No monsters.”
BM started to protest. “And do you really honestly believe them?!? They are hiding more info from us than Mazon's enemies! We must figure it out.”
“What we must figure out is nothing. Just keep your nose out of their business. Curiosity killed the cat. So I'd advise against any research unless you want to be part of the research.”
However, BM would not hear of it. “What are you trying to say? That I am going to become an experiment as a way to shut me up? I am not known to be shut down from getting a scope with threats as low as that. Before I was hired here, I was an ace reporter! I would never let something this big out of my sites even if I cannot report it. I will learn the truth for myself if for no one else. I think we deserve to know since we are guarding this area which goes straight to Lab 34.”
Rayon finally smiled. “Well if you want to learn, I think your best bet is to ask an experiment. Do you also wonder what happened to the old director?”
“You mean director Saragace? I don't really know. They said he died-”
Rayon cut him off. “-And do you really honestly believe that?”
“If you would let me finish I would of told you that I bet he was made into an experiment or something. Some people who used to work closely for him heard from Saragace that he knew he was going to get betrayed by someone. I do not know about you but it sounds like he was speaking of Mazon. What do you think of it?”
“Yep, that sounds like Mazon. Just pray he doesn't find any of us expandable. I still say we keep our noses out of trouble. He doesn't like people snooping around!”
BM and Rayon always guarded near Dave's cell. However, they did not see anything in the cells because it was designed to let experiments see outside the cell and let nothing but cameras see them in the cell. The only one who knew what the experiments looked like was Mazon and Director of Science Chester Fickle. Lab 37 was the only group that also knew. However, they have no contact with no one outside. Dave knew this because he heard some of them talk while he was in Lab 37.
Dave wanted to speak out and let them know but he knew it would not do any good. For some reason he was unable to speak. Why can I not speak? I know I am still able to. Are they drugging the food with something? Dave struggled and tried to speak. “...h...he....hel....help me.” He was amazed. He could talk but felt much restriction against his mouth.
Rayon looked around. “What the- BM, did you hear that just now?”
BM looked at him and laughed. “Very funny! I get the picture. Could you knock off the fake cries for help? I understand you don't believe what I've seen but could you at least not mock me?”
Rayon pointed towards a few cells, which included Dave's cell. “I am not kidding! I heard it from over there. So you did hear the same thing. I'm wondering if it is a bad idea to go check it out.”
BM pointed and started to mock Rayon. “Wait, what were you saying just 5 minutes ago? That we should, 'Stay out of trouble and keep our noses clean.' Well you sure cannot keep your mind made up! So if you weren't mocking me earlier, then who did do that?”
“I don't know.” Rayon started to grin. “Maybe it was an experiment. Who knows? Perhaps we should question a few of them.”
BM was starting to get angry. “Now I know you are mocking me. Well what if you are right? Then what do we do? Just hope they go away?”
Rayon smiled. “Sorry, I couldn't help it. Maybe I am right. Well, I say we ignore it until whatever does it again. I don't know about you but things around here can easily get you into trouble.”
BM laughed. “What, are you scared? Just come with me and check it out.”
“Oh, so you want me to come over and hold your hand? I understand.”
“Bah, fine. Just stay here and keep quiet will ya? You may scare whatever it is off.”
BM checked around the cells but not in them. Dave could not put up enough energy to speak again. BM after 20 minutes of checking gave up. “Whatever it is may be gone now.”
“Is that right?” Rayon questioned. “You still didn't check what is in the cells yet.”
“If you knew better then you would know that you can't see past the cell door. Lab 37 designed the door where you can see outside but not inside. I think that is stupid. Why are we unable to see what we are guarding? They are covering up something.”
“Well that much is obvious but it won't do any good if we don't a key to the cell doors. I say whatever we heard was someone trying to scare us and let it be that way.”
BM signed. “You were always known to give up easy. I may stop and wait until later but I never forget nor give up.”
A bit later, a guard in armor bearing a Lab 37 ID came by. “You two, both of you must go to your rooms immediately! Lab 37 does not want any trouble when they come by. We have it under control for now. Do you understand?”
“Where's the fire?” BM retorted. “Surely it is no problem for us to keep staying here. After all, we do guard here all the time. Let me guess, you do not want me spying on you. Is that correct?”
The guard was not amused and flashed his huge machine gun. “Listen, I said I don't want any trouble. You see this gun? You know what it does? I am taking over here while they have contact with the experiments. Any questions? No? Good!”
BM just kept going on. “Oh so a big gun makes you king of the joint? Let me tell you-”
Rayon covered BM's mouth. “-Just ignore him. Don't mind us, we were on our way.”
“Just make sure you aren't around when Lab 37 shows up. I don't want to have to make a story up for what happens to the both of you.”
As they left the cell area BM kicked a rock and turned red. “I can't believe how much of a jackass Class A guards can be! Why don't they take their gun and-”
“Just let it go. Do you really want to get your head blown off? He is not even worth it. The moment he loses his gun he would run and suck on his thumb in a corner. To be around here you cannot get upset over every little thing. Now, how about we go for some drinks to refresh ourselves after a long day? Working 18 hours a day sure can get a guy worked up.”
------------------------------------
When both BM and Rayon left, the guard went over towards cell 1337, which was Dave's cell. As he got closer, Dave saw that the ID showed his name to be Jack Richmen. He had a very noticeable grin on his face. It seemed he enjoys treating other cruelly.
“We heard you talk a bit ago. It seems we need to give you a stronger dose. However, I am impressed with how much energy you still had. How are we feeling today?
Dave laughed. “As if you cared about me! Who is 'we'? Referring to yourself as more than one person only makes you look dumb.”
“Oh, being smart are we? Perhaps you will change that attitude with a little 'treatment'.”
“What? You mean it is now illegal to be smarter than a third grader. Still, referring to yourself as more than one person only makes you look stupid. In addition, your treatment does nothing but amuses me. I hate to see what 'treatment' you morons have for me today.”
Dave noticed Jack had his hand on the trigger of his weapon. Jack was almost red. “You are lucky I don't blow your face off where you stand. I say we kill abominations like you.”
“That is why you have no say in anything,” said a man walking up to the cell.
It appeared Chester said that. He walked up to Jack. “If you don't want your head blown off I suggest you stop threatening my experiments. They will replace people like you in a heartbeat. They are much stronger and actually reliable unlike someone we know.”
Jack knelt before Chester and looked very pathetic. “Sorry Director Chester, it won't happen again! I let my anger get a hold of me.”
“Be sure it doesn't. I hate to have one of the class B members to replace you. Now stick to your job or I will find a job that suites you. Now, off with you. Just keep an eye out for anyone walking towards this cell.”
“Yes, sir.” Jack saluted and walked off. Chester waited until he was far enough away.
“Dave, that's your name. You might have figured it out by now since we put that tag around your cell. However, you know nothing else, correct?”
“That and you bring scientists to torture us experiments daily. Oh, I love how you treated you pet back there. He can bark all day but he has no bite.”
Chester seemed amused by that comment. “Yes, he does bark often, doesn't he? But I sure wouldn't say he has not bite. He is known to 'bite' quite a few people. Now I am here for you, which is obvious. What I am about to tell you may be unbelievable. You are experiment 1337 for a reason. King Mazon handpicked you to be the best. He goes by many titles but I rather call him by that title. Now, here is the shocker...He saved you from certain doom!
“There were humans who were abusing power and wanted to make super humans by torturing them, injecting Powernite into them, and making them into slaves. Those were who truly were torturing you, not Mazon or Me. We finally stopped them from the act. However, some got away. Now, you may consider yourself a monster, however we will use your blessing as a curse.
“We will change the world into a kingdom where everything is free and everyone is happy. We want to use you in our army so we can put an end to civilization! People cannot control themselves anymore and need guidance! We can give them guidance in return for control that they themselves can't grasp. Together, we shall give you your vengeance on those who stole your life! How are you handling this so far?”
Dave was shocked. He did not know Chester very well at all and then he offers to him what seems like partnership in world conquest. “So basically you want to use me as a soldier in your army. So what about all the rumors going around? They say you and Mazon has to do with everything going on. This- this does not make any sense! Who am I and why am I here?”
“There are a lot of rumors going on but they are all wrong! At HQ, some high ranked people abused power and slipped false information about what is going on. What is worse is they were trying to basically mind control you and your companions. You have a family and people who care about you. They miss you but they can't see you and probably never will. You have been robbed of your memories and life! Worse of all, they turned you into a monster! However, you are special.
“Unlike the other experiments, you had a will that kept you from turning into a total monster. You still have your human qualities and mind. However, you have enhanced abilities. You are indeed what your brethren need...a leader! Yes, you are no longer human. You are now and forever are...a Kingrayon. The age has begun and the time is now. Rise up King of the Kingrayons.”
Dave was trying to take the information in slowly. “I'm...a king? What is with the name? Is there any reason for that name? How can I be a king if I am but a soldier in your army?”
“I will tell you the meaning of that name later. Do you know that even kings go out to war alongside his people? Only you can teach and convince them to join the cause! However, before then, we must learn of your abilities as a Kingrayon. Your training will begin soon.”
Dave scratched his head. “I am not sure if I can believe all that you said but I'll go along with it for now. Besides, as if I had a choice.”
Chester tried to cover up a grin. “Oh, you have a 'choice', you are free after all. But then again, everyone will think you are a monster and will attack you. I think we may have a method we can use to cure you of this. However, we have to capture the responsible parties who did this then we can question them. After all your torture, the least I can do is give you a good room to stay in.”
Dave rubbed his stomach. “The only thing I want now is a decent meal. We can talk of a room for me to stay in later.”
“Very well then, I'll ask a guard to escort you to the kitchen. I am interested in what you eat after what they did to you.” Chester took out his phone and started to call Rayon.
------------------------------------
Rayon laughed at BM as he took a big drink and fell over. “I think you had too much. You know, we still have a job to do. And I don't like dragging people.”
BM tried to regain his posture but only slipped on his drink and fell over once more.
Rayon was only laughing harder. “Oh boy, you sure are clumsy today. You are making not only a mess but also a scene. I think it is time for you to leave.”
BM got back up and sighed. “These floors are slippery. I didn't drink too much.”
“Yea, I believe you alright-” He was interrupted as his cell phone was ringing. “Oh, it's Chester. I do not get too many calls from him. Then again, he was just recently promoted the Director of Science. BM, just clean up and I will be right with you soon. I think he may want me to come with him.”
BM sighed as he mumbled, “Why should I clean this up. That is what janitors are for.”
Rayon opened up his phone. “Yea, Rayon here. I haven't heard from you in awhile.”
Laughing was heard from the other side of the phone. “Indeed. We have not heard from each other in years. Well I got quite a bit to tell you if you got the time.”
“Oh, I got plenty of time for an old friend.”
“An old friend you say? I did not know that is how you viewed me. Well I think it is high time for a change in how the guard system works. Do you not agree?”
Rayon just stared for a bit before saying anything. “A change...to the guard system? How big of a change? You called me for more than a change.”
“Yes, it has to do with said change. You are going to be promoted in a way with the new change. It is indeed a big change. Class X will now be handling big assignments. But its main force will be greatly replaced with some of the experiments. However, only those who proved to be great to our cause will stay within that class. You are of course have been a great officer and you will be soon commanding its forces. There will be only one person with a higher rank than you in that class. You are now a commander of guard class X. I'll be answering any questions before we continue.”
Rayon was shocked. Wow, that is a big change. So we will be losing some of the original crew? Oh, what about BM? “Oh, do you mind if I recommend someone who I would like to stay in this class? He is a good friend and it wouldn't be good without him.”
“Well, I'll consider it. I will have to ask His Excellency, Mazon. Who is the person you would like recommend in class X?”
“Well, you see...he doesn't have an official name but everyone calls him BM. I kind of raised him like a big brother would. That should explain why we are very close friends. If I may, I would like him to serve under me as an officer. He can be placed anywhere in this class though, just as long as he is in Class X.”
“That sounds reasonable. Anyways, I shall continue. We have recently found out someone was abusing their power and without us knowing. He led a rebel group and left false information around the HQ and labs. They even tortured our experiments. Few have died but we managed to recover but the rebels have run away. The experiments are not monsters but some are due to their mind being warped. Those who do have a human like mind look like monsters but are at a loss of why they look like that. We shall get revenge against the rebels!”
Rayon just froze at the word 'rebels'. “Who is the traitor and who are the rebels? What are they rebelling against? Who wants the revenge more, the experiments or you?”
“Ah, so many questions...I will explain this and more once you meet me. We shall meet in Mazon's office within 2 hours. However, before then I will have you escort a very special experiment to the kitchen. He is hungry and I would like to have you meet with him anyways. We are near where you used to guard daily. Are you up for it?
“Yea, I'll be there soon.” Then he closed his phone. I wonder what they look like.
------------------------------------
Chester closed his phone. “Dave, I will have officer Rayon of class X escort you soon. I think you will take a liking to him. He is a very loyal friend and seems to do well in everything we put him in charge of. Now, he has no idea what you look like so do not be shocked when he looks shocked at your appearance. I am sure you will get that a lot from humans. ”
“OK, understood. I am still confused about everything but at least I am not imprisoned. I am curious to what my abilities are, what I eat...I mean I feel like I can eat anything like normal; perhaps even more. There is some much to learn.”
“We feel the same about you Kingrayons. We have no idea where to begin the tests. I know you all have been tortured and all. However, if I am not mistaking, you actually said it stopped hurting or something to that extent. Something like quote,' your treatment does nothing but amuses me.' I am curious to what you were meaning with that statement.”
Dave let out a laugh. “Well, I've got to admit...it still has the bit of pain it used to give but I seemed to have grown immune to most of it. I think this new body is much stronger. But it sure came with a cost. That cost was my old body and able to call myself human.”
“Indeed, you are not human. However, it seems you still have your personality. That still shows that you are human somewhere inside. After you eat at the kitchen, I will take you to King Mazon. He will reveal some truths to the matter.”
Dave nodded. “I hope so. I just still do not know how all this happened without you or Mazon knowing. Surely you have ways to keep track of things.”
“We did but the false information we kept getting left us in the dark. We are sorry but we shall help you learn about your new body and gain revenge on the rebels.”
------------------------------------
It was around 30minutes later that Rayon showed up to meet Dave who was standing at around 8 feet tall if not taller. Dave had a somewhat human appearance but had the look of some kind of animal standing up as a human would. It was surprising to see that he did have human-like hands. Dave gave off a kind of presence that gave off some sort of energy. Rayon felt that something like this beast would normally shred you into pieces but Dave gave Rayon the feeling that he is very much like a human...maybe even smarter.
Rayon greeted Dave. “Hello, I am here to escort you to the kitchen. My name is Rayon, Officer of Guard Division Class X. What would your name be?”
Dave also greeted Rayon. “Greeting Rayon, my name is Dave. I am not too sure if that is my nickname or my real name. I am sure you do not know what to call us but you can call us Kingrayons. Were you also told we were going to see Mazon soon? Chester says he will answer many of our questions. I just hope he can answer some of the important ones.”
Rayon nodded. “Yes, I was told. I have questions to ask him as well.”
Chester stepped in. “Yes, he will solve some of this mystery. I am sure you are all surprised and confused to some degree. However, we will go have some lunch until then. I will meet with you later. I will speak to Mazon to alert of your upcoming visit.”
------------------------------------
Mazon was waiting for Franso and his report. Franso was due to show at any time but after a few minutes, Chester arrived instead. Chester knelt before Mazon and greeted him.
“Your Excellency, I have arrived with some good news. Has Franso brought his plan to reveal Director Stranglehold yet? That will make our plan work much easier.”
Mazon sighed. “Not yet; He is late. He should be here soon though. What good news do you bring? Is my favorite experiment on our side? It is ironic calling my brother a favorite anything. I used to hate and envy him and his personality. He was the favorite son, not me. Well, now I stole everything from him. He is now my greatest weapon against this unsuspecting world. It is just a shame he will not be as vicious as Saragace. If only I could combine them together. We would have a good show for the people then.”
Chester laughed. “I still think the show is only beginning. We have plenty of time for a good show. After all, you have not even played some of your best cards yet.”
“You must be forgetting one of your aces.” The voice came from the shadows in the hall. When the figure came out it was revealed a very beautiful women but someone who took charge. She had blond hair and wore a uniform that showed command. A commander's uniform to be precise. The commander also wore the id tag that shows: “Roseadria Beadtrix, Commander of the Class Division.”
“Sorry to surprise you both like that”, Roseadria said. “I am here to speak with you Mazon.”
Mazon smiled. “Ah yes, if it isn’t the only person who never fails me! How are you doing?”
“Doing well, however it is dead boring around here. I do want something to happen. I specially like trouble. I can easily fix something like that.”
“There is plenty of trouble and things for you to do soon. After all, you are Commander of the Class Division, Roseadria. That is a big post that only for my best. You have proven you can solve any problem and have yet to fail me. Now Franso is due to show.
“I hope he gets here soon. He is late and I hate those who are late.”
A few minutes later Franso came through the door panting like a dog. He carried a laptop with him as well as several documents. After he collected himself he said, “Sorry for keeping you waiting like that, Mazon. I know you hate people who are late but it is for a good reason.”
Mazon licked his lips. “A good reason? I hope that reason is getting Director Stranglehold here and bringing those two traitors here. Nothing else is excusable!”
“That and more. They are all in one spot, in the Director’s hidden lab. We have reason to believe we have a spy among us! We found this out because our inside spy has recently managed to infiltrate the hidden lab recently before Waylen and Leasha arrived-” Mazon interrupted him.
“-Why haven't you told me the location sooner? We could of sent our army there to capture them all! You told me you had a plan. You mean to tell me that you knew their location?!?”
Roseadria laughed. “An army isn't necessary. I could capture them all easily.”
Franso sighed. “Because if they were attacked by anything they have an escape route and we would never see them again. It is why I haven't told you. I needed a way so I could keep them from running. Now, before you say anything, my plan will rely on our big spy on their part. I want to suggest one thing before we continue. Lock the doors of this room immediately.”
Mazon pressed the emergency lock down button and the doors of the room locked. Mazon leaned back in his chair and laughed. “And who is our spy?”
“Well, he is not in here at the moment but we believe he bugged this room and most of our discussion areas. However, we do believe he has enlisted a friend to come into this room because we found all the bugs and now he is recording our conversation as we speak. However, we have yet to find his exact location but we are jamming his signal now.”
Mazon smiled a wicked grin. “How much have they heard of our conversation?”
“All the way up to locking the doors, Your Excellency. You sound like you wanted them to hear what they heard. What are you thinking?”
“How scary it must be for them. One among themselves is a traitor and they do not know who. They now know some of our weapons and how dangerous I am.” Mazon licked his lips. “How delicious! Now if only they knew our plan...oh well. Continue please.”
“The spy in this room is believed to be in the vents. If I may suggest-” Mazon interrupted him again but only with laughing. “Your Excellency, what is funny?”
“I had expected as much. However, I do believe our spy should learn the Dangers of spying in vents. Let this be his or her first and last lesson. Turn on the fans in the vents but unjam his or her signal so tour friends can hear his or her screaming for mercy. Vents while on lockdown prevent anyone’s escape but all at the same time allow direct contact with our fans. You see, I had hoped we would get to use our spy killing fans.”
Roseadria laughed. “I believe I am the one who suggested we install those special fans. This is better than I had hoped. They will hear their spy die by being sliced and diced while screaming. This is just too good to be true.”
Franso smiled. “I am prepared to unjam the signal and am awaiting your command to start the fans. What are your orders, Your Excellency?””
------------------------------------
Director Stranglehold turned stone cold. “Get out of there now! They are on to you! Hello? Are you there? Answer me!” The signal jammed. “Great, just great! We at least got some more info but I do not like this one bit! We have a spy too now.” Everyone was looking around.
Waylen sighed. “Well, we do have more info now. Now if only we knew who our spy was.”
Sidney laughed. “They still don't know that I planted those bugs. They only know someone did it and that I sent one of my friends to spy. I think we are going to lose her.”
Leasha frowned. “What makes you think that?
“They have recently installed a special type of fan that if the place was on lockdown the vents would also be sealed but if the kill command is activated then anyone and anything in the vents would be sliced and diced while inside the vents.”
“Is there any way to escape the fans? I mean is there a possible way to maybe either escape or cut through the walls of the vents? There has to be a way,” said Waylen.
Sidney scratched his chin. “Well, there is one way but she must act fast or she is dog meat. If she is where I think she is then she will have to go near the fan before it activates and there should be a side door to a maintenance tunnel. It can only be unlocked with a key only maintenance staff can access. Luckily, I have a few keys and I gave her one. The only problem is if the fan is activated the force will be too great to open the side door.”
“Does she know this?” Questioned Waylen.
“She does, but hopefully she reacts quickly enough. Otherwise, she is done for. One other problem lies in if Mazon knows about that escape route. If he does then surely he will send someone in the Maintenance passage to kill her. However, now that I think of it, I think she has a better chance than I thought. You see, she was trained well in spying. She used to work for Mazon’s special spying force but one day she faked her death so she would be invisible to Mazon’s radar.”
“She seems very talented. What is her name?” Leasha asked.
“Oh, how could I forget to mention it? Her name is Tiarith Chereynna. The only few that know that name are either her friends or dead. Mazon and his staff forgot her existence as she is only seen as another sacrificial soldier to their cause.”
Waylen gasped. “Do you think they know that it is her in the vents?”
“As I said, they have forgotten her. I have not heard them ever mention that name.
Valen laughed. “That still is not enough evidence for them forgetting her. They are smarter than you think Sidney. Do remember that some of his best agents are those who he does not easily forget. I am sure she is on his mind somewhere.
------------------------------------
Tiarith was in worse situations before; she knew what she had to do to escape. At least Sidney gave me the Maintenance keys or else I would be a goner. She made her way to the side door. When she reached the door, she noticed it was unlocked. This does not look good. It is as if they expect me to come through here. Tiarith listened in to make sure Mazon was not saying anything else useful. She peered through the air duct.
“No, not yet Franso, I want to tell them what they are about to hear.”
Roseadria smiled. “It is unfortunate but I must leave for an errand real quick. I will be here shortly. Don’t worry; I am always around where the action is.” Then she ran out the door that unlocked when she showed her Commander ID to the scanner.
Franso signed. “Where is she going at a time like this?”
Mazon smiled. “I know exactly where she is going. It would appear we have two rats.”
Franso frowned. “What, we have two spies? How is that possible without me knowing?”
Mazon licked his lips. “You idiot, you are lucky you even know her position. It would appear she has brought a friend to assist her out of the vent. Besides, if we all knew their existence too soon they would be bad spies. In addition, you would notice I am saying that she is a she. I know when I am in the presence of another woman.”
Franso was shocked. “How do you know all this?”
“Let’s just say I might know her from somewhere. However, I am not sure who she is."
“Why don’t we activate the fans before she escapes?”
“I do not know why but I feel like she will be part of my plan very soon."
Chester laughed. “Who is NOT part of your plan, Your Excellency? It would seem the whole World is tied into your master plan.”
Mazon let out a chuckle. “Yes, you are right. Everything is part of my plan. I think I have found out a use for her after all.”
Chester grinned. “I know what your thinking, Your Excellency. I am loving it!”
Franso looked like he was left out of something. “Could you both stop reading each other’s minds and fill me in?”
Mazon laughed. “The great minds think alike. I am sorry but you will be filled in later. After all, we do have a spy listening in.”
Tiarith took this as a cue to escape through the Maintenance door. I do not like the sound of their plans for me one bit. I hope I can escape quickly. If I run into Roseadria then I am in big trouble. She ran off quietly through the Maintenance Hall.
------------------------------------
Roseadria was running down the hall towards Lab 37. After awhile she stopped at a bench in near the labs to catch her breath. I should give the rat some chance to escape or it will not be as entertaining chasing it. After all, cats love playing with their pray. These days pray do not put as much fight as they used to. Maybe they are too weak or perhaps I am too powerful.
They can use guns and still have a disadvantage as I move too quickly for their eye. I prefer cutting them with my sword but atlas a nice gun will work too, specially sniping.
She smiled. I am unstoppable and powerful. I am probably the only women Mazon fears and perhaps even the only person he fears. He has reason. She grinned. Women are often thought to be below men but I will put those men in their place. Mazon had better watch himself because I will take great pleasure in taking his spot as ruler of the new world and this one. I do not think he knows of my secret training. So far, I have been doing a good job of keeping my appearance up. He will be surprised. She got up and ran inside Lab 37.

Chapter 6: ???

Dave was enjoying his meal. He finally finished his stake and mashed potatoes with dark gravy. That was his twelfth plat and he has already eaten others full of other kinds of food that included several types of fruits, meats, grains, and vegetables. The Head Chef gasped at all the plates. “I've never see anyone eat so much.” The Chef grinned, “That last plate had a lot less than the others. I take it you are done with your main course?”
Dave rubbed his belly. “Yea that was some great cooking. I am ready for dessert now.”
The Chef laughed. “I was afraid so. So, what will you be having?”
The Chef gave Dave a menu. Dave took a good long look at it before saying, “I can't quite remember what some of the desserts taste like. Perhaps I shall try a little of each.”
“I wonder what a little bit to you means. After all, you ate quite a bit of the kitchen's food. It is hard to keep all those soldiers fed and satisfied.”
“Oh, I am sorry. I just have not eaten anything good as far as I can remember- I actually do not remember much anyhow. About the size of a pie slice is good for most of the desserts and you can serve them in alphabetical order if you want.”
“What ever you say; perhaps I will save my best for last.”
Rayon laughed at them both. “That is quite impressive, Dave. I am sure you can probably out eat anyone I know. Maybe even BM does not stand a chance. Dave is right; your cooking is as fine as ever. I think your one of the best.”
Dave looked at Rayon. “Who is BM? Is that a friend of yours?”
“Yea, I have kind of raised him like a brother since his mother and father died. He lost them at a very young age. He is a good friend; I think you will like him.”

Time for more updates! This time I bring you news of Chapter 6: The Twisted Fates's release! Version 0.1.8 is out and it brings you more information on Kingrayons, the Dimension of Destiny, and much more. It also hints at certain things in the next few chapters.

With that said, here is; link is not working for some reason.

Speaking of updates, I have one last update to deliver: I am having a special event at my site. I was thinking about holding it here as well but since FG is down that can't happen. If only some sort of RP forum was around...

Anyhow, the event is basically an interactive story event thread in which users who are registered can play in a special forum game where users will vote for what happens in a short story scenario I created.
The short story is based around a future chapter in the story. Namely, the Dark Maze inside the Dimension of Destiny.
To explain things better: The event is a alternating story which if users can get the right ending by making the right dicisions then participating users will receive a prize. However, if you make too many wrong decisions then it will be game over. However, the biggest goal is the fun.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy yourselves!
