I am sorry, I couldn't resist. I love the pallies, but I found this little gem on the boards, which I hit for a few days for no reason. It relates to PvP. Quoted from WoW boards:

I don't know why so many people are whining about ret paladins being overpowered. From my experiences, ret paladins are still very easy to kill. I have ran into many ret paladins since the most recent patch and none of them have provided me with any challenge whatsoever.

Maybe the reason why so many people whine is because they don't come prepared for when they run into a ret paladin, but I do. There are several things you can do to make fighting a ret paladin an easy challenge. First, make sure you are at full health before engaging the pally. Secondly, start the fight from max distance. Thirdly, get your damage going on the pally before the pally gets his or her damage going on you. Fourthly, make sure you have no less than 5 healers and 5 rogues assisting you by chain spamming heals on you and chain stunning the pally.

If you follow the proper PvP strats you shouldn't lose to a ret pally ever again.

That is awesome!

The great thing is, it's always been like that for a properly played pally. Just now everyone bitches about it becuase everyone has a BE Paly.

So my Chaos bolt does not penetrate the pally's bubble - LAME. The spell is supposed to penetrate anything and can't be resisted. Is it a bug or false advertisement?

I had a ray gun once, but then Lare stole it and took over the world. It's now a cold dark place..... he is a harsh master, but my master none the less. Please.... save me.

Before I can save you I require pictures of you in leather with a collar and leash...if that's too much to ask then you can forego the leather (and cloth or any other material for that matter)...

When a level 64 Retadin tops the damage meter in AV we have a issue.

I knew it was coming when I logged on after patch day at 1k ms and my 53 Pally 2 shotted a level 60 mage. I laughed and then spent the rest of the night crying because all my classes are way way OP.
Resto Druid I heal with wood!<div>Sometimes I DPS with feathers...

there is a fith option here not mentioned in the start.

number 5 if all else fails and your not fully prepared, bring a friend when facing the ret pally misdirect or run how ever you can to him hopefully he will be distracted by his shinnyness and attack him giving you enough time to move on to find something you can kill

lmao MD in pvp...

thats almost as silly as what i've found actually works for a rogue in PvP. go stealth, and use Distract. 99% of the time, they turn AWAY from the distract, because they're thinking "wtf, noob rogue trying to turn me around, he must be over here" so toss a distraction on top of yourself, then run in for the...whatever you want to use xD

Whoa, I'm sitting here in Virginia reading this, and you guys got way off topic!
And for that I say "shame"... Picketing to save Rain? Have you all forgotten about Lare's feelings? The poor guy is probly crying him self to sleep everynight with out his Gavvy around. And now you're trying to steal his wife too?!

Actually, the Pally is just as easy to kill as has always been...1) as long as they aren't getting healed, 2) be prepared to take damage as well.

Had two of them drop in on our defense in AB....they had a healer with them as well.
So a grand total of 3 of them wiped out our defense of 5. I jumped one of the pallies later on, and even after the bubble, almost had him dead until his partner jumped in.

But, that being said, I've killed plenty of them since the latest patch. Yeah, tougher then before (and they used to take forever to kill) but killable.
